Alternative Resident Educator

The alternative resident educator graduate certificate at Bowling Green State University is designed for individuals currently teaching in Ohio schools through the state’s Alternative Resident Educator pathway who need to complete the required coursework for advancement toward the Ohio Professional Teacher License.

This fully online, competency-based certificate supports working educators who have completed the Intensive Pedagogical Training Institute (IPTI) or the Alternative Resident Educator Institute (AREI) and are seeking a flexible, structured program aligned with Ohio licensure expectations.
