Positions We Hire For
Academic Coaches meet one-on-one with students to build effective study strategies. They help with time management, note-taking, active reading, and more—often working with students over several sessions.
SI Leaders are students who have successfully completed a challenging course at BGSU. They sit in on the class again and lead three one-hour, activity-based study sessions each week. SI Leaders are expected to plan lessons and typically work 10 hours per week.
Math and Stats Tutors support students during drop-in hours. They help break down course content, guide problem-solving, and promote collaborative learning.
Course-Based Tutors assist students with specific subjects during drop-in hours and group sessions.
Writing Tutors work with students at any stage of the writing process—across all subjects. They offer feedback, ask questions, and help students grow as writers.
Clerical staff are the front line of the Learning Commons. They greet visitors, schedule appointments, answer questions, and help keep everything running smoothly.
