University Libraries actively promotes open access publishing through:
- OhioLINK-negotiated publisher agreements
- Strategic community partnerships with open access initiatives
OhioLINK Agreements for BGSU Researchers
BGSU-affiliated authors can publish open access at no cost through agreements with major publishers:
- American Chemical Society: Funds available. No annual cap.
- Cambridge University Press: Funds available. No annual cap.
- Elsevier: As of September 2026, 34% of article allocation remaining.
- Institute of Physics (IOP): Funds available. No annual cap.
- Springer: As of September 2026, 29% of article allocation remaining.
- Wiley: The annual caps on fully open access journals and hybrid journals have been reached for 2026.
These agreements require no additional University expenses. Learn more about publishing options.
