Sara Houlihan

Sara Houlihan is a 2009 BGSU with a Bachelors degree in Applied Health Science. She graduated in 2012 with her DPT from the University of Toledo. She has since been working at Michigan Medicine at the University of Michigan. Sara is a clinical specialist on the medical surgical acute care team with expertise in Emergency Medicine, General Medicine, and Oncology. Sara has published in the Journal of Acute Care Physical Therapy, presented at the Emergency PT Conference, presented twice at the APTA Michigan Fall conference and has taken posters to APTA Combined SectionsMeetings. Sara is an active guest lecturer for the University of Toledo and Arcadia University Physical Therapy schools.

Additionally, she teaches yearly lectures regarding musculoskeletal and vestibular assessment and treatment to the emergency medicine residents at Michigan Medicine. Sara is a member of the public advisory committee and pre-professional program advisory board at Bowling Green State University Physical Therapy program. Recently, Sara became a Board-Certified Geriatric Clinical Specialist through the APTA. In her free time, Sara enjoys traveling, reading and kayaking.
