BGSU Libraries Associate Dean appointed president of APALA for 2025-26

Bowling Green State University Libraries is proud to share that Associate Dean Eileen K. Bosch has been appointed president of the Asian Pacific American Librarians Association (APALA) for the 2025–26 term. This marks a special milestone, as Bosch will be serving as APALA president for the second time. Her new term began on Aug. 1, 2025.

Bosch was selected by the APALA Executive Board following the resignation of Vice President Anna Coats earlier this summer. The board sought a leader with deep organizational knowledge and a proven track record to guide the association during this transition period.

Bosch previously served as APALA president from 2014–15, where she led the association’s 35th Anniversary celebration and launched its first-ever symposium, Building Bridges: Connecting Communities through Librarianship and Advocacy. Over the years, she has held numerous roles within APALA, including executive board member-at-large, chair of the Finance and Fundraising Committee, and member of several key committees.

Beyond APALA, Bosch is a Spectrum Scholar and an active leader in the broader library community. She recently served on the American Library Association (ALA) Presidential Advisory Committee for President Cindy Hohl and has contributed to several national initiatives supporting diversity, equity and inclusion in libraries.

Her colleagues at BGSU Libraries congratulate her on this prestigious appointment and look forward to the impact of her leadership on APALA and the profession as a whole.
