Bonnie Valiant, class of 1961 from Lisle, IL, wants to recognize and reward outstanding students who are interested in an international academic experience. The scholarship will be awarded annually to students who will be conducting study abroad trips to China.
Required
- Scholarship applicants must be full-time students enrolled at BGSU.
- Applicant must have been enrolled at BGSU for four or more semesters at the time of application.
- Applicant must have a minimum of 30 semester hours still to be completed before graduation.
- Applicant must have a minimum of 3.0 GPA.
Applicant must be engaged in an international academic experience in China.
Selection Process
A selection committee in coordination with the Director for the Center for International Programs and the Coordinator of Education Abroad will review applicants and contact the students.
Amount of the Award
One award will be deposited into the recipient’s bursar account after July 1.
Awards will be announced in April.

Completed applications must be received by the BGSU Education Abroad Office by March 1. The Valiant Scholarship is not renewable and late applications will not be accepted.
