Intern/Co-Op Abroad
Even if you are not required to complete an internship as part of your degree, gaining work experience abroad within your field of study will boost your resume and prepare you to compete in the global economy through the acquisition of important career skills!
Many options are available to students seeking an internship abroad. Students can intern part-time while completing coursework in their major or to fulfill general education requirements, or, alternatively, can seek full-time positions abroad. Some programs will locate internships to fit your needs while others simply provide you with the work permit, allowing you to locate your own position.
BGSU has formally affiliated with several study abroad program providers to offer a wider variety of programs for BGSU students to choose from, including internships and co-ops. Students participating in affiliated programs may be eligible to utilize state and federal aid to pay for expenses related to these study abroad programs. Students will earn regular BGSU credit and grades for their coursework completed on affiliated programs. Program-specific scholarships and grants may also be offered through the affiliated organizations directly. To learn more about how to gain approval to participate on an affiliated program, please contact the Education Abroad office to meet with a study abroad advisor by calling (419)-372-0479 or by emailing edabroad@bgsu.edu.
