In Brief: May 19

May 20 is deadline for payroll deduction gifts to Campus Family Campaign

Although the official end date of this year's campus Family Campaign is June 30, the last day to sign up for ongoing payroll deduction is Friday (May 20). Payroll deduction gifts made after May 20 will not go into effect until the next year. Employees can also make a one-time gift by check or credit card up until June 30.

As always, the level of participation is the most important aspect, so any amount is welcome. You can designate your gift to any area or specific scholarship or have it go to the general scholarship fund. Area representatives can provide forms and envelopes, or you can give online.

Students tell us your gifts help them become better leaders, inspire them to give back, allow them to have meaningful experiences inside and outside of the classroom, and help them achieve the dream of a college education. Visit the campaign website to read their comments.

Gifts from the University family are also a powerful endorsement that helps make the case with outside donors and alumni, demonstrating the commitment of those closest to the institution. That is why every gift, no matter the size, makes a difference.

Last year’s campaign yielded a record $950,213 with 20 departments achieving 100 percent participation. Since its inception, the campaign has raised more than $12 million.

If you have made a gift and would like an “I give because” circle to display in your area, contact Jenny Wensink at wensinj@bgsu.edu.
