Notices and Reminders

You will recieve emails from circdesk@bgsu.edu about:

  • Due date receipts (sent after checkout)
  • Pickup notifications (items held for 10 days)
  • Courtesy reminders (sent 3 days before the due date)
  • Overdue notices
  • Billing notices

Emails for Interlibrary Loan items are sent from notices@e.worldcat.org.

You can reply to any automated notice; staff will respond within 24 hours.

Late Fees

Late fees may accumulate hourly or daily, depending on the type of item you borrowed. Charges are sent weekly to the Bursar’s Office and can be paid through MyBGSU.

Avoid Late Fees

You can avoid late fees by renewing items as long as no one else is waiting for them. Some items are not eligible for renewal. To renew, log in to your library account or contact the Circulation Desk

You'll also receive reminders before items are due.

Lost or Damaged Items

If an item is declared lost, you will be charged:

  • Any outstanding late fees
  • A fee of $90 for BGSU or OhioLINK items, or $25 for SearchOhio items
  • A $10 processing fee

If a BGSU or OhioLINK item is returned within one year, the replacement cost will be refunded. There are no refunds for SearchOhio items.
