Borrow from Other Libraries (ILL)
If we don’t have an item you need, we’ll help you get it–at no cost to you! Through our Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service, you can request a wide variety of materials:
- books
- journal articles or book chapters
- music scores
- DVDs
- and more
We’ll borrow the item from another library and let you know when it’s ready.
Delivery Times
- Electronic items: Usually delivered within 24-48 hours
- Physical items: Arrive in 7-14 days
How to Request Items
Search BGSU, OhioLINK and more and request an item you find there:
Log in to see requesting options under the heading "Sharing":
- Get a Physical Copy: For full books, DVDs, CDs, or music scores. These are delivered in hard copy to the circulation desk and must be picked up in person.
- Need a chapter?: For a single chapter of a book, delivered via email.
- Get a digital copy: For journal articles, delivered via email.
You can also fill out a blank request form with as much information as you have, and we will do our best to find the item.
- Log in to the ILL system.
- Press "Create Request".
- Enter as much information as you can.
- We’ll contact you if we need more details.
After You Submit a Request
- You will receive an email when your item is ready to download or pick up.
- View the status of requests and checked out items via your Library Account or your Interlibrary Loan account.
