Educational Leadership
The Educational Leadership program at Bowling Green State University prepares educators to meet the most challenging issues facing school districts today. Our graduates lead in a variety of educational roles from classroom teachers and building principals to district consultants and administrators.
The goal of the Educational Leadership program is to develop educational leaders who can lead so that students learn, regardless of their role. So, whether you desire to lead as teacher or to lead as an administrator, our leadership program will give you the tools to “lead where you are” and to lead so that students learn.
All applicants to the Educational Leadership Program must possess an educator license issued by the Ohio Department of Education or the equivalent.

The M.Ed. and Ed.S. degrees in Educational Leadership at BGSU are C.A.E.P accredited and a recognized member of the University Council for Educational Administration a consortium of higher education institutions committed to advancing the preparation and practice of educational leaders for the benefit of schools and children.
Bowling Green State University’s programs in educational leadership is nationally recognized by the Educational Leadership Constituent Council (ELCC) for effectively integrating the following leadership skills, practices and dispositions into our coursework:

Experienced, Knowledgeable Faculty
Our program is comprised of faculty who are leaders in the field of education. They have extensive experience as principals, superintendents, curriculum directors, directors of regional education centers, special education directors, guidance counselors, school psychologists, legal consultants, board of education members and teachers. They continue to serve the education profession through their teaching, service and research as well as through leadership roles in educational organizations.
Convenient 100% Online Delivery
Classes are offered in an online format geared to the needs of working professional educators. Most class sessions are asynchronous, meaning that students have the flexibility of not having to be online at a designated time.

Professional Licensure (If applicable)
Bowling Green State University programs leading to licensure, certification and/or endorsement, whether delivered online, face-to-face or in a blended format, satisfy the academic requirements for those credentials set forth by the State of Ohio.
Requirements for licensure, certification and/or endorsement eligibility vary greatly from one profession to another and from state to state. The Educational Leadership program leads to professional licensure.
Gainful Employment (If applicable)
Under the Higher Education Act Title IV disclosure requirements, an institution must provide current and prospective students with information about each of its programs that prepares students for gainful employment in a recognized occupation.
The Educational Leadership program is not a recognized occupation that requires a Gainful Employment disclosure.
