Samantha Ashby received her BA in Cinema Studies with a minor in Computer Applications from New York University and her MSI in Archives & Records Management and Library & Information Science from the University of Michigan. She worked at the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and MTV Networks before coming to BGSU. Her responsibilities include implementing and overseeing reference policies and procedures, managing reference requests, maintenance and development of the CAC website and social media, digital initiatives, and supervising student employees.

Marilyn Levinson

Marilyn Levinson is the Curator of Manuscripts in the Center for Archival Collections (CAC). She holds a Master’s in Library Science from the University of Wisconsin - Madison, an M.A. in History from the University of Kansas and a Bachelor’s degree in History from Indiana University - Bloomington.  Marilyn has been employed at BGSU since 1979, where she initially started as archival cataloger before progressing to the position of Curator.
Her responsibilities include accessioning all manuscript collections acquired, cataloging of items in various material formats, processing of special collections and creation of their respective finding aids.  In addition, she helps provide reference service for CAC researchers as needed, particularly in topical areas dealing with the Center’s extensive Civil War holdings.
