Rian Oglesby

My name is Rian Oglesby, I am a third year specializing in Marketing. One of my biggest goals, before I graduate, is to leave an impact on my campus and I’ve been working towards that by getting involved within my communities. I am a student ambassador here within the Schmidthorst College of Business as well as a member of Students of Color in Business. Outside of the Schmidthorst College of Business, I am the secretary and the Uplift Our Local Community Chairman for the Illustrious Iota Iota Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and I am also a member of Order of Omega.

Over the summer I plan to intern at Rosemary’s Babies which is a nonprofit organization based in Cincinnati, Ohio that is dedicated to providing support to teen parents. During this internship, I will get the opportunity to work on the digital marketing team which I am very excited about seeing as digital marketing is the field of marketing I am most interested in.

Outside of school, I like to engage in activities that stimulate my mind and give me a small break. I like to paint, online shop, binge-watch any psychological movies or tv shows I can find, and work out when I am able to.

The Schmidthorst College of Business has taught me a plethora of skills that I will be able to use for a lifetime. I’ve been able to develop my leadership skills, my public speaking skills as well as my written and verbal communication skills. Being a part of the Schmidthorst College of Business, I’ve been able to grow professionally and I continue to grow every day.
