Dean's Message

Greetings from the College of Business at Bowling Green State University where we are committed to Going Beyond Business As Usual with students, alumni, faculty and programs recognized throughout the world.

Ninety percent of students have jobs or are interviewing, and the average salary of our graduates is $51,500 which is higher than the national average and among the highest of any business school in Ohio. Our Business Career Accelerator provides career planning, improves job search skills and helps students find internships and jobs. Housed within the college, the Career Accelerator has connections with more than 1,000 companies.

Our Hamilton Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership has achieved the incredible honor of being one of just 20 centers worldwide recognized by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) for its commitment to creating and incubating cutting-edge business innovations and fostering entrepreneurship. This center is best known for The Hatch, a remarkable "Shark Tank" program with an estimated 4,000 students, faculty members, staff, alumni and business leaders from throughout the region on campus to attend our events.

In addition to recognizing premier entrepreneurship centers around the globe, AACSB is the world's preeminent business school accrediting agency. Fewer than 2 percent of business schools worldwide earn AACSB accreditation, and we are accredited in business and accounting.

Our alumni have successful careers with Fortune 500 companies, have launched their own businesses and are leading companies worldwide. Many alumni return to campus to speak to students, mentor students, teach courses, serve on boards and recruit students.

Our award-winning faculty are recognized as experts in their fields. Students graduate with real-world knowledge of the global marketplace through interactive learning programs making them highly marketable to recruiters throughout the country.

In addition to high academic standards, we help students grow professionally and personally through programs that develop professional business skills: networking, dressing for success, dining etiquette, golf,  business travel and more.

Students have extensive opportunities to join organizations, attend college events and study abroad. Our student organizations place in the top at both national and international competitions.

Exciting prospects await students who come to BGSU to obtain their business degree. I know. I am a 1980 graduate of BGSU’s business program. I went on to lead several major corporations and returned to my alma mater as dean to ensure the tradition of excellence continues for future business students.
