2023 ArtsX: Movement
Saturday, December 2 | 5-9 p.m.
BGSU Fine Arts Center & Wolfe Center for the Arts
"Movement" is the inspiration for the 19th annual ArtsX event. Witness and explore physical movement through dance, theatre, and film. See and hear movement through music compositions, literary works, and visual artistic expression. Experience how art moves us — intellectually, emotionally, and socially.
Enjoy myriad art forms, performances and activities presented by BGSU students, faculty and staff. ArtsX is free and open to the public, and offers entertainment for guests of all ages.
Featured Artist: Fringe Society
The featured artist for this year’s ArtsX is Fringe Society, a Detroit-based hybrid and experimental art collective creating works at the intersection of craft, tech, and performance. Fringe Society's mission is to create works that spark thought around individual and collective roles in the journey toward a more just and equitable future.
For ArtsX: Movement, Fringe Society has created the “Portal Sanctuary,” an intimate multi-sensory experience that includes weaving, projected images, a hologram, lighting, and atmospheric sound. Guest will be transported into a lush garden sanctuary where portals to other dimensions and worlds are woven, time slows down, and every movement is made with care.
ArtsX visitors can engage with the "Portal Sanctuary" 5:15-8:30 p.m. in the Thomas B. and Kathleen M. Donnell Theatre, Wolfe Center for the Arts.
