Dr. Morris is an Assistant Professor of Human Development and Family Science. As a Marriage and Family Therapist, Dr. Morris cares deeply about the quality of relationships in her clients’ lives. She firmly believes that the quality of relationships that one has is a significant predictor of their general quality of life. Specifically, she is interested in how one’s relationship with their self influences other close relationships (especially romantic relationships) as well as one’s overall mental health. One particular area of interest for Dr. Morris is self-compassion, as she believes self-compassion is foundational to cultivating a healthy relationship with the self. This emphasis on self-compassion can be seen in Dr. Morris's clinical work, research, as well as her teaching.
