Description: Volunteer for the annual Falcon BEST Robotics Competition and earn volunteer hours!
Bowling Green State University hosts the only BEST (Boosting Engineering, Science and Technology) robotics competition in Ohio, Indiana and Michigan. Over the course of nine weeks, high school student-led teams design a remote-controlled robot and ultimately compete against one another at Falcon BEST. Teams are also judged on their marketing presentation, project engineering notebook, team entrepreneurship interview, robot modeling and video and website design.
We need your help! Robotics expertise not required. Volunteers receive a complimentary lunch and free t-shirt. Full day or session time slots are available.

8. Heartbroken? Get professional help healing from a romantic break-up
Date and Time: Starting Aug. 22 until spaces are filled. Appointment times are scheduled on an individual basis.
Location: Psychological Services Center, 300 Psychology Building, BGSU Campus. Free parking in designated spots.
Description: A 7-week, no-cost therapy program is available for BGSU students coping with a difficult romantic breakup. Each client will be seen individually at the BGSU Psychological Services Center by graduate students in the Psychology Department’s PhD clinical program. We will provide help to heal and cope with difficulties that often occur after a romantic break up. These include painful thoughts, memories and feelings about a breakup; difficulties setting boundaries around the breakup; over-thinking the breakup; complicated feelings or actions about sex tied to the breakup; feeling lost or confused about one’s identity after the breakup; and other problems.
Enrollment begins Aug. 22 and continues until the limited number of spaces are filled.

By serving in this role, you will assist with the in-person voting process in the upcoming presidential election. Serving as a poll worker provides participants a unique opportunity to support democracy, build valuable skills and network with others.

For this event you will work in teams to dig holes and plant trees; we provide all equipment, instruction and inspiration! By planting trees, you'll make a lasting impact to improve air quality and provide animal habitat on campus for many years to come. Dress for the weather and wear boots or sturdy closed-toed shoes. 15. Research studies for Undergraduate HHS Students of Color

Description: We invite students of color enrolled in our Health and Human Services programs (Allied Health, Applied Health Sciences, Communication Disorders, Criminal Justice, Food and Nutrition, Gerontology, Health Care Administration, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Nursing, Pre-Medicine, Public Health, Social Work) at BGSU to participate in two studies that aim to understand the challenges and opportunities in health and human service majors.
Journaling Study: We are seeking students of color who are currently taking entry-level biology or chemistry courses to complete a series of reflective journal entries on their experiences over the semester. As an incentive for participating, you will receive a $50 Amazon gift card for completing the journaling entries and a $25 Amazon gift card for participating in the follow-up focus group.
Focus Group: We are conducting focus groups with students of color who have already completed entry-level coursework in biology or chemistry. You will receive a $25 Amazon gift card as an incentive for participating.

Description: Learn how to maintain respectful, productive discussions when sensitive political topics arise in your classroom in the CFE workshop, "Planning Ahead: Preparing to Have Classroom Discussions about Politics," facilitated by Dr. Joshua Atkinson, Professor in the School of Media and Communication. In this interactive session, you'll explore strategies to encourage civil discourse and develop guidelines to structure these conversations effectively. Participants will practice managing political discussions and leave with practical tools to foster respectful dialogue.

Description: The Safe Zone Project at Bowling Green State University seeks to enhance awareness and support for LGBTQ+ individuals by fostering an inclusive environment and understanding intersectional identities.
