9. The mirnavator & body positivity/acceptance

There are many words and phrases in reference to one of the most important parts of our existence as human beings—the body. Bodies - we use them and we envision them to somehow be different in the future. Have you ever paused to wonder why it is we think about our bodies in a certain way or what we prioritize certain aspects of our bodies over others? This interactive workshop will look deeply into how and why we perceive our bodies in a certain way, opening up a conversation on how we could learn to love and appreciate them even more. You will dig deeper into the body-image messaging of your past and work individually to reset your body narrative to reflect the power you have now & have within. This is especially important as we find ourselves dealing with the emotional, mental, physical stress and trauma of the current global crisis.

Open to all members of the BGSU community. Event: Wednesday, February 10 at 7 p.m. Register at bgsu.edu/TheMirnavator.

12. Participants needed for 'trolling of #MeToo' study

I am Blessy McWan, a Ph.D. candidate in the School of Media & Communication at Bowling Green State University. As part of my degree requirements, I am working on my dissertation. My dissertation is about trolling of #MeToo. Precisely, to understand how audiences perceive trolling of #MeToo that they come across (For example: Ford vs Kavanaugh Case, or any celebrities' #MeToo, or any personal or acquaintance' incident of trolling). I am conducting a study in which participants will be asked questions about #MeToo (you need not have used the hashtag) and any trolling messages/content they may have encountered. Based upon your availability, WebEx/Zoom/telephone interview would be conducted. During the interview, respondents will be asked about their opinions and observations made regarding the trolling content they encountered.. If you are interested, contact me via email at bmcwan@bgsu.edu

Your participation can be withdrawn at any time and your identity will be anonymous.
