American String Teachers Association (ASTA)

Student chapter promotes string-instrument music teaching and performance for all interested music students.

BGSU Flute Club

The BGSU Flute Studio Enrichment and Outreach Club is an organization that strives to build a stronger community of flutists of all ages and skill levels in the Bowling Green area. Membership is free, and all money raised from fund raising goes towards masterclasses and events featuring guest flutists from around the United States. The BGSU Flute Club hosts one fundraiser per semester. All members are expected to participate in these fundraising events, and in turn, benefit from great opportunities such as our masterclasses with featured guest artists.

BGSU Horn Club

BGSU Trombone Club

The organization, affiliated with the International Trombone Association (ITA), exists to enhance the music, interest and activity of the trombone.

Clarinet Choir

The Clarinet Club is comprised of enthusiastic clarinet players and clarinet lovers. The club organizes annual conferences, off-campus concerts and educational programs to further the knowledge of this fantastic instrument.

Kappa Kappa Psi

National honorary band service fraternity operates for the betterment of College and University bands.

Music Ambassadors

A group of volunteer undergraduate music students engaged in service activities in support of the College of Musical Arts at Bowling Green State University. Members of Music Ambassadors exercise leadership skills by hosting prospective students on campus, interacting with families and giving tours of the Moore Musical Arts Center, Batchelder Hall, and the BGSU campus.

Ohio Chapter of the American Choral Directors Association

Student chapter provides insight into all aspects of choral music for the future music teacher.

Ohio Collegiate Music Educators Association

Student organization of music education majors, affiliated with the professional group of OMEA and MENC, promotes musical programs and activities to enhance each member’s growth as a music educator and helps to serve the community as well.

Ohio Music Teachers Association

Student chapter assists students in the preparation of professional private-studio teaching.

Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia

Men’s social music fraternity fosters and promotes the quality of music in America through performance and service.

Praecepta

Student chapter of the Society of Composers, Inc. (SCI), which increases awareness and understanding of new music among students and the community at large, and to encourage the performance of new music.

Sigma Alpha Iota

Honorary fraternity of women pledges itself to excellence in the service of music.

Steel Drum Association

The Steel Drum Association was created to help support steel drum awareness and activities at BGSU. The SDA helps support the steel drum ensembles and works to bring guest artists into the area.

Student Advisory Committee to the Dean

The Student Advisory Committee is comprised of one representative and one alternate from each of the following areas of the College—composition/history majors, music education majors, jazz studies majors, performance majors, brass/percussion, keyboard, string, voice and woodwinds. The Dean of the College of Musical Arts serves as ex officio member.

Elected student representatives sit on the following College committees: the Executive Committee, the Committee on Undergraduate Curricula and Instruction, and the Committee on Graduate Studies.

Student Jazz Association

The SJA is a student organization dedicated to building a jazz community at BGSU. Activities include the development of performance venues and educating audiences about jazz music. The organization is open to all those interested in jazz, whether or not they are jazz performers.

Tau Beta Sigma

National honorary service sorority promotes College and University bands.

Tuba and Euphonium Falcon Club

The Bowling Green student chapter of the International Tuba Euphonium Association. ITEA is dedicated to promoting and advancing the tuba and euphonium instruments. The organization comprises performers, educators, students and amateurs of all backgrounds. TEFC maintains a liaison among those who take a significant interest in the instruments of the tuba and euphoinum family and encourages social and professional communication between tubists and euphoinumists in the area.

Additional Student Organizations

Certain ensembles also have student organizations associated with them. This allows for an additional source of funding for activities and events such as tours, guest artist, commissioning and other activities. Such organizations include: A Cappella Choir, Collegiate Chorale and University Men’s and Women’s choruses.
