Auditions announced for ‘Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson’

BGSU Firelands College Theatre will hold open auditions for the upcoming musical “Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson” on Sept. 12 and 13 in the McBride Auditorium at Firelands. Actors, singers and musicians are needed for all roles. Rehearsals begin Oct. 3, and the production runs Nov. 3-5, just in time for the 2016 election.

The musical tells the true story of America’s first political maverick. It’s an exhilarating and white-knuckled look at one of our nation’s founding rock stars, recreating and reinventing the life of “Old Hickory,” from his humble beginnings on the Tennessee frontier to his days as Commander-in-Chief.

No experience is necessary. To prepare for the audition, bring in one short, contemporary pop/rock song that shows off your voice. An accompanist and electronic hookups will be provided. Sides from the show will be available at the audition if needed.

The production is rated R and is for mature audiences. All actors under 18 must have parental permission to participate.
