Your Airport Transportation to-do list

To help you prepare for your arrival at BGSU, please complete the following action items as soon as possible.  You can start this process now and complete items #1-3.  BGSU will start to email Uber vouchers to students who have completed these steps beginning the week of July 6, 2026.  

1. Obtain a US phone number

While studying at Bowling Green State University, it is important to have a US phone number.  Obtaining your US phone number prior to your arrival will make your travel and arrival process smoother.  CampusSIMS provides a digital SIM card that will allow you set up your phone number from abroad.

2. Set up an Uber account

Creating an Uber account requires a valid email address and phone number. You’ll also need to create a password and agree to terms and conditions and our privacy notice.

1. Fill in your first and last name, phone number, and preferred language.
2. Once you complete this part of the sign-up process, we send a text SMS to verify your phone number.
3. Next, enter your payment information. Adding a credit card or debit card number allows your trip fares to be automatically charged after each ride.
4. After you provide this info, we’ll send an email to confirm your account registration.

3. Register for BGSU’s International Student Orientation Airport Transportation

Complete the International Student Orientation Airport Registration, in order to receive your Uber Voucher.  (Please note BGSU will start to email Uber vouchers the week of July 6, 2026.)

• Within 1-3 business days of registration, you will receive instructions on redeeming your Uber voucher for your airport transportation.
• The deadline to register is Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at 11:59 pm EDT.
• Because the verification process could take 1-3 business days it is important you register at least one week prior to your scheduled travel dates.
