Description: Join the Student Organization in Music Research (SOMR) for a forum on Music of Resistance - Cloaked Sounds. The event is free and open to the public and will feature music by Raven Chacon, inti figgis-vizueta, Nathalie Joachim, Scott Joplin, Lorde, Kamala Sankaram and Nina Simone. The concert is paired with Sharp Teeth, an anticolonial exhibition of dialogues about how women of color use gossip to form connections and networks.

10. Dubois Piano Festival and Competition

Description:
The 14th Annual David D. Dubois Piano Festival & Competition will take place Friday, Feb. 2, to Sunday, Feb. 4, in the Moore Musical Arts Center. The featured guest pianist, Gilles Vonsattel, will present a master class (Friday, 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.) and solo piano recital (Saturday, 8 p.m.) in Bryan Recital Hall. The pre-college piano competition semifinal round features 24 pianists from across the U.S. and Canada and will be in Kobacker Hall Saturday, 9:15 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., followed by the final round from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Sunday. Winners will be announced Sunday at 1 p.m. in Kobacker Hall.

11. National Girls and Women in Sports Day clinic

The BGSU Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is proud to announce our annual sports clinic for National Girls and Women in Sports Day from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 7. Join our Women's Sports teams for an evening of fun at our mini sports clinic! Practice your skills! Try new sports! Deadline to register is 5 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 5, at 5 p.m. All participants will receive complimentary tickets to the game. Families may purchase additional tickets at the event.

12. Planetarium show: Phantom of the Universe - The hunt for dark matter

Mysterious dark matter seems to vastly outweigh the visible matter we can see in the Universe. What is dark matter and how do we learn about this puzzling component of the Universe? PHANTOM OF THE UNIVERSE – THE HUNT FOR DARK MATTER explores these questions and showcases the search for the nature of dark matter using the Large Hadron Collider at CERN. This full dome video show is most suitable for ages 13 and up.
Public stargazing will follow the Sunday program if skies are clear.

Dr. Sam Burford is a London based fine artist with a multimodal practice that explores innovative reconfigurations of cinematic spacetime and cultural memory, interspersed with forays into the uncanny valley. 1. Apply to be a student coordinator for the Marvin Center!
Description: The Marvin Center Student Coordinators (MCSCs) assist the Marvin Center for Student Leadership and Civic Engagement by researching, developing, administering and assessing a broad array of leadership development, civic engagement and educational programs. The MCSCs are a group of students passionate about leadership, social change and civic engagement. MCSCs work in the Marvin Center as paraprofessional undergraduate student employees with such tasks as:
- Leadership and civic engagement program development
- The facilitation and communication of educational programs
- Outreach to and consultation with other student organizations and university departments
- Representing the Marvin Center at various events and on various committees
- Event planning and execution
- Serving as administrative support for the Marvin Center for Student Leadership and Civic Engagement
The various functions of the MCSC position culminate in supporting the mission, vision and values of the Marvin Center for Student Leadership and Civic Engagement. Applications close Feb. 16.

Description: Falcon 2 Falcon is a peer-based and lead group for BGSU students through the Garrett Lee Smith Suicide Prevention Grant. A Falcon 2 Falcon Peer Group Facilitator is a BGSU student who volunteers their time to lead peer support groups and get the necessary training to help facilitate peer group sessions while connecting other falcons to resources that can be beneficial to their wellbeing.

7. Research studies for undergraduate HHS students
Description: We invite students of color enrolled in our Health and Human Services (HHS) programs at BGSU to participate in two studies that aim to understand the challenges and opportunities in HHS majors.
Journaling Study: We are seeking HHS students of color who currently taking entry level biology or chemistry courses to complete a series of reflective journal entries on their experiences over the semester. As an incentive for participating, you will receive a $50 Amazon gift card for completing the journaling entries and a \25 Amazon gift card for participating in the follow up focus group.
Focus Group: We are conducting focus groups with HHS students of color who have already completed entry level coursework in biology or chemistry. You will receive a $25 Amazon gift card as an incentive for participating.
