8. Think before you toss: help us avoid common contaminants in our recycling
Learn more about the Office of Campus Sustainability!
Description: Paper towels, plastic utensils, styrofoam, to-go containers and snack/chip bags are five huge sources of contamination in BGSU recycling containers. They are not recyclable and in fact, should be placed in the trash. You can help prevent contamination and the rejection of contaminated loads of recycling by carefully following our signage on or behind recycling containers and not putting these and other nonrecyclable items into the recycling. Remember that even if certain items are accepted at other locations, that BGSU has its own recycling “rules”. To learn more about our recycling program, check out our website or email us at greenbg@bgsu.edu for more information.
