1. Bowling Green Fire Division Training on Friday in Lot E

Date and Time: From 8:30-10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 19.

Description: The Bowling Green Fire Division will be conducting training on Friday, April 19 roughly from 8:30-10:30 a.m. in Lot E (Heat Plant). The training exercise will provide firefighters hands-on experience with special rescue equipment for confined spaces (i.e. pits, manholes, pipe chases, tunnels, etc.). There will be one emergency vehicle and several emergency personnel present, so please don’t be alarmed by their presence. 3. Partner Support Kit

As you flip through this guide you will come across different interventions and information that will help you better support your partner. The inside of the box includes two journals as well as different journal prompts to do together. Note cards to leave your partner encouraging messages. A self-care component for yourself because your mental health is just as important. As well as informational pieces on how to be a supportive partner, how to support your own mental health and resources in the BG community.

5. Safe space in the CWGE

Gender Violence Prevention and Education Services

Description: We recognize that April can be a difficult time for people, so every Thursday this month our lounge will be a designated safe space for anyone who needs time to decompress, meditate or talk to one of our staff members.

10. Donate to WYMO, When You Move Out

Description: BGSU’s Office of Campus Sustainability is hosting its 23rd annual WYMO program. This event is one of BGSU’s largest and longest-running community service projects. These donations will benefit a multitude of different local non-profits and food pantries.

2. Chinese Film Viewing: CHINESE 4150 Chinese Cinema

Date and Time: From 4:30-5:45 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays for Fall 2024.

The Chinese Language

Description: China has one of the largest film industries and film markets in the world. The course studies selected masterpieces developed at different historical periods, focusing on the masterpieces that internationally acclaimed Chinese directors released from the 1990s to the present. In addition to studying the aesthetics of Chinese cinema, the course offers a comprehensive understanding about social, political and cultural transformations in China as these transformations are closely entangled with the evolution of Chinese film genres and the film industry. The course covers a variety of genres, including silent film, black comedy, kung-fu, melodrama, neo-noir, thriller, dystopian and pseudo-documentary. The course is taught in English. All films selected in the course will include English subtitles. Meeting Times: Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:30-5:45 p.m. Location in Fine Arts 1101.

10. Virtual Focus Group for HHS Students of Color on Friday

11. Summer Course: ID 1160 - Intro to Interior Design

Date and Time: Summer 2024 - First 6 Week Session

Description: This class is open to all! You do not have to be an Interior Design major to take this course. Anyone who is interested in learning more about design and exploring fundamental concepts of design will enjoy this class.

The class begins with an overview of the interior design profession and continues with an examination of the design process with emphasis on creative problem solving and development of competencies in space planning and presentations.

This section of ID 1160 is taught 100% online! Online classes have no set meeting times, so this will fit everyone's schedule.

1. Classroom/lab software request deadline for Summer/Fall 2024

The deadline for submitting software requests (for classrooms/computer labs/mobile device carts, etc.) for the Summer/Fall 2024 semesters is April 29. This includes cloud-based software, desktop-based software, mobile apps and domain purchases. All software submission requests (including Canvas LTI integrations) are subject to the university’s software procurement review process, which checks that the software meets accessibility, legal and IT security standards with which BGSU must comply. Software not previously approved by the University can take a minimum of 45 days to be routed through the approval process.

To request software installation, please submit a Lab/Classroom Software Install Request form.

Please Note: If you are currently unaware of the location of your class, please still submit your request and note in the Additional Details section that the location is “to be determined”. This will allow ITS to begin working on your request. Once the location is known you can reply to your ticket with that information.

Submissions received after the deadline will be handled in the order received and will not be available for the start of the session/semester.

Description: The Center for Faculty Excellence (CFE) and the Division of Diversity and Belonging will be offering a Safe Zone training for faculty, staff and graduate students. Facilitated by Dr. Katie Stygles, Interim Chief Diversity and Belonging Officer and Director of Multicultural Affairs and LGBTQ+ Programs, this three-hour, in-person training promotes awareness of LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer+) people and education concerning LGBTQ+ issues.
