My name is Bethany Buchanan and I am a printmaker. My most recent works explore the complex visual language of mapping and how it can be used to organized my own reality. Mapping in its most general definition is about making sense of something that cannot be seen or understood easily. Maps can inform the world around us by charting specific locations, elevations of land, current flows, and political views. In my work the idea of the map extends itself into other forms of organizing information, such as diagrams, charts, and other means of record keeping.
