3. Earn up to $35 by completing a study looking at pictures!

Location: Psychology Building 4th Floor

Participate in the study.

Description: The Department of Psychology at Bowling Green State University is conducting a study examining people’s reactions to viewing pictures of different body images.

Eligibility criteria:

1) 18-30 years old

2) Identify as female

3) Normal Vision/Hearing with or without correction (e.g., glasses, contacts, hearing aid etc.)

4) Functioning smartphone/computer

By filling out the survey, you can choose ONE of the following compensations:

1) Entered into a raffle to win 1 of 5 $25 Amazon gift cards

2) ½ SONA credit*

3) Extra credit in participating classes* (must be approved by professor beforehand)

*Only for BGSU students

Please complete the Pre-Screening Survey. (Approx. 5 min.)

If you are taking the survey for SONA credit, you must access the survey through SONA.

If eligible after taking the survey, the Principle Investigator, Aubrey Dauber, will email you to invite you to part two of the study, which is a 30-45 min. in-person lab experiment. Part two of the study requires participants to email of photo of themselves so the experiment can be customized to you! You will also wear three facial electrodes so eyeblink data can be collected while viewing images of body pictures. If you are not a BGSU student/staff, a parking pass will be provided. By completing part 2 of the study, you will be compensated with a $10 Amazon gift card!

Description: Are you excited for the upcoming April 8 total Solar Eclipse? This week the eclipse speakers series continues with:

Sounds of The Solar Eclipse: Exploring the Music of Solar Eclipse Demonstrations in Planetariums – presented by Colin Hochstetler, Music Researcher, Polka Preservation Assistant BGSU, Music Library and Bill Schurk Sound Archives.

What music pairs well with the solar eclipse? We will explore how planetarium directors in the 1960s and beyond chose music for their solar eclipse demonstrations. Listening to music, we’ll investigate the cultural meanings that became associated with it. Finally, we will look at music paired with the solar eclipse inside and outside the planetarium today.

8. Peru service learning trip

Date and Time: From Saturday, May 18 to Sunday, May 26.

Location: Lima, Peru

Description: MEDLIFE will be hosting an annual service learning trip (SLT) this spring! This is a great opportunity to travel and gain service hours. During the trip you will be helping low-income families access the healthcare that they need, support their community and also have a chance to participate in exciting excursions! This trip is open to ALL majors, you do not need to have any medical experience to attend.

9. Wireless network maintenance on March 7 – certificate acknowledgment may be required

Information Technology Services

Description: At 10 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, Information Technology Services (ITS) will perform wireless network maintenance. Users may be prompted to accept a new certificate on their device(s) when accessing the eduroam wireless network for the first time following this maintenance. Confirming the new certificate will allow users to continue using eduroam.

If after this update your eduroam connection gets stuck in the "connecting” status and does not complete the connection, please try these troubleshooting steps.

Description: Are you a marginalized or minoritized student pursuing studies in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) on campus? The University Libraries Dean’s Advisory Council on Diversity and Inclusion (DACODI) Committee invites you to be a part of an insightful panel discussion where you can share your unique experiences, challenges and triumphs navigating the STEM landscape.

The field of STEM has long been characterized by a lack of diversity and inclusion. This informal panel discussion aims to shed light on the experiences of marginalized/minoritized students within STEM fields, providing a platform for open dialogue, reflection and understanding.

We are seeking panelists who identify as members of marginalized or minoritized groups within STEM disciplines. Whether you are a woman, person of color, LGBTQ+ individual, person with disabilities or belong to any other underrepresented group, we encourage you to share your story.

6. Web Clock outage, March 15-18

Date and Time: From 5 p.m. on Friday, March 15 through 6 a.m. on Monday, March 18.

Description: The MyBGSU Web Clock tool used by Dining Services and BGSU student employees to report time will be unavailable during the CSS/FMS/HCM PeopleSoft upgrade, from 5 p.m. on Friday, March 15 through no later than 6 a.m. on Monday, March 18. Supervisors should work with scheduled employees to determine how to best handle the outage for their department. Supervisors are also advised to carefully review and verify all time reported during this outage when approving time for this period.

Please share this with any employee who uses the Web Clock application scheduled to work on campus during this time.
