1. Counseling Center Open House
Come check out where the Counseling Center is located, get information about services and play Mario Kart with alcohol and cannabis goggles! The open house will be from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 26, at the Counseling Center.

2. Do you have a unique experience you want to share?
The Office of Student Engagement and The C. Raymond Marvin Center for Student Leadership and Civic Engagement invites proposals from individuals committed to promoting leadership in a variety of functional areas. We welcome your submission for this event and invite you to join us to optimize your own programs and services in the company of others from the University.
This year the conference planning committee is hoping to highlight unique leadership experiences across campus and the community. Proposals should include a leadership theme along the lines of, but not limited to, values, relationship building, servant leadership or group dynamics.

5. Looking for volunteer hours?
The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Wood County is hosting their annual AfterBurn event this year and are seeking volunteers to help. The event will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 6, at the Wood County Fairgrounds. If you are interested in being a volunteer for this event, please register via BGSUServes or on the NAMI Wood County website. You are also more than welcome to invite friends, family, and peers to help volunteer as well. We would love to have you!

6. Mack for Homecoming Queen
Hi everyone! My name is LaMareia Mack, and I'm grateful to be a candidate for Homecoming Queen! I've loved being a student and student employee for BGSU.
I am a McNair Scholar, Student Learning Analyst and Wellness Attendant here on Campus. I gave students, faculty and staff free Diva Cups and educational training. I also won the 2023 On-Campus Student Employee of the Year and the TRIO Legacy Award.

8. Share your experiences at the Embracing Global Engagement Conference
The Center for Undergraduate Research and Scholarship (CURS) invites presentation proposals from undergraduate and graduate students of all disciplines. Oral, poster and photo/video presentations will be accepted.
Showcase your work. Build your resume. Inspire other students to go abroad or study global, international or intercultural issues.
This is an excellent opportunity for students who have participated in:
- Internships, co-ops or practica while studying abroad
- Research, scholarly or creative activities while studying abroad
- International public policy or service-learning projects
- Research, scholarly or creative projects as international students at BGSU
- Cultural experiences (e.g., the Navajo Reservation Trip)
- On-campus research/scholarly/creative projects with global/international/intercultural perspectives
Registration deadline is Sept. 27.

10. SMC Colloquium presentation: "Korean Han and the Rhetoric of Reunification at the DMZ"
Drs. Al González (BGSU) and Eun Young Lee will deliver a presentation titled "Korean Han and the Rhetoric of Reunification at the DMZ" from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 29, on Zoom (Meeting ID: 824 6064 0716, Passcode: 2023).

11. “Roosters” opens tonight!
The first Elsewhere production of the year is “Roosters" by Milcha Sanchez-Scott and will have performances at 8 p.m. tonight and tomorrow, Sept. 22 and 23, in the Eva Marie Saint Theatre in the Wolfe Center for the Arts. This show has free admission and is open to the public.
Come support the theatre department and enjoy a night of entertainment! Parking Lot "N" is free after 6 p.m. and on weekends.

13. You're invited to the premier of Disney Pixar's "Coco"
Join the Office of Multicultural Affairs at 6 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 25, at BTSU Theatre for the premiere of Disney Pixar's "Coco"!
Coco" is a 2017 American computer-animated fantasy film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. Based on an original idea by Lee Unkrich, it was directed by him, co-directed by Adrian Molina and produced by Darla K. Anderson. A screenplay written by Molina and Matthew Aldrich and a story by Unkrich, Molina, Aldrich and Jason Katz.
The film stars the voices of Anthony Gonzalez, Gael García Bernal, Benjamin Bratt, Alanna Ubach, Renée Victor, Ana Ofelia Murguía and Edward James Olmos. The story follows a 12-year-old boy named Miguel (Gonzalez) who is accidentally transported to the Land of the Dead, where he seeks the help of his deceased musician great-great-grandfather to return him to his family among the living and to reverse his family's ban on music.

The Green Game Day program reduces waste at home football games by promoting recycling and recycling education in the tailgate area and stadium. 6. Full tuition and fees scholarships available!
TRY ARMY ROTC AS AN ELECTIVE! NO SERVICE OBLIGATION! ONE CLASS A WEEK! NO BASIC TRAINING!
Scholarships and other monetary support are available when you join BGSU Army ROTC, which allows you to focus on your education by relieving some of the financial pressure. You will graduate with a respected and secure career path as an Army officer and with less debt for the school years your scholarship covers. You are eligible to apply for a ROTC scholarship, which could get you up to 100% tuition coverage and a $420-a-month stipend and $600 a semester for books. You may also be qualified to receive free room and board from BGSU if you contract with Army ROTC and have a 3.0 GPA.
STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR ROTC SCHOLARSHIPS
To be accepted for any ROTC Scholarship, you must meet these standards:
- Be a U.S. citizen
- Be at least 17, and under 31 in year of commissioning
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Have a college GPA of at least 2.50
- Have taken the SAT or ACT
- Take the current Army physical fitness test
- Meet the physical weight and height requirements
- Agree to accept a commission and serve in the Army, Army Reserve or Army National Guard

8. Survey for male students - Chance to win a $25 Amazon giftcard!
Currently, we are conducting a study that examines specific facets of health behavior in men. Participation is a relatively low burden, including a one-time online survey that will take about 30 minutes, and responses to the survey are completely confidential. Each person who completes the survey will be entered into a raffle to receive one of two $25 gift card from Amazon. If you are interested in participating, complete the online survey.

9. Take-Action and Ecobrick!
Join the Geoffrey H. Radbill Center for College and Life Design, the C. Raymond Marvin Center for Student Leadership and Civic Engagement and Elyse Adrian, a current BGSU undergraduate student, in the upcoming Take-Action Ecobricking service event.
In a world where plastic waste threatens our ecosystems and future generations, it's time to take action. Our Take-Action Ecobricking service event is your opportunity to be a part of a global movement dedicated to turning the tide against plastic pollution. This service event will provide volunteers with an overview of the benefits of Ecobricking. Volunteers will then have the opportunity to make their own Ecobricks. We will provide all the materials and guidance you need to create these eco-friendly building blocks. Witness the transformation of plastic waste into a tangible symbol of your commitment to the planet. To learn more about Ecobricking, please watch Elyse Adrian’s TedxBGSU talk.

1. CFE Professional Engagement Certificate
The Center for Faculty Excellence (CFE) is excited to announce the new CFE Professional Engagement Certificate! This certificate is intended to recognize members of the BGSU community for their participation in professional development activities and their commitment to supporting student success through professional development. In order to successfully complete the program, participants must attend at least five different CFE workshops during the academic year and submit a completion form that reflects on the impact of the professional development they engaged in.
This program is open to all members of the BGSU teaching community, including full-time faculty, adjunct instructors, graduate students and staff. To find out more about more about the certificate, visit the Professional Engagement Certificate webpage.

1. CFE workshop: Getting Started with New Quizzes
Join the CFE in one of their virtual workshops on creating New Quizzes in Canvas. In this workshop, you will learn how to identify question types, explore what students see when taking quizzes, moderate exams for accessibility and create New Quiz question banks.
The Getting Started with New Quizzes workshop will be held online via Zoom. This workshop will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 5.

2. CFE workshop: How to Complete SAAC Reports
Are you completing a SAAC report? Do you have questions? Join this workshop offered by the Center for Faculty Excellence (CFE) and the Office of Academic Assessment on how to complete SAAC Reports. This virtual session will review the SAAC reporting process, including the assessment plan and reporting cycle, short-form assessment reports, long-form assessment reports and rubrics. During this session, we also will discuss best practices and lessons learned from the SAAC reporting process. These workshops will be held online via Zoom. The workshops are scheduled for the following dates and times:
