1. BGSU network maintenance scheduled for June 20

From 9-11 p.m. on Tuesday, June 20, Information Technology Services (ITS) will perform maintenance on BGSU network equipment. During this time both wired and wireless networks in these buildings will be intermittently unavailable.

2. Exciting course for fall 2023 - Europe Today: Crises and Opportunities

Against the backdrop of a brief overview of the history of Europe and the European Union since World War II, the course will examine some of the main political crises Europe faces today, including the Ukraine War, mass immigration, climate change, the pandemic, the success of right-wing parties, tensions within the European Union and some of its economic challenges. How do politicians, artists, entertainers and prominent intellectuals react to these crises and opportunities? How do Europe's responses compare to the United States' responses to similar challenges?

3. Mental health first aid trainings in July

Join us from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1-4:30 p.m. on July 27 and 28 in Central 101 for Mental Health First Aid Training!

Mental Health First Aid is a skills-based training that teaches people how to identify, understand and respond to signs and symptoms of mental health or substance use challenges in adults aged 18 and over. The evidence behind the program demonstrates that it builds mental health literacy, providing an action plan that teaches people to identify and address a potential mental health or substance use challenge safely and responsibly.

This event is hosted by the BGSU Division of Health and Wellness and the National Alliance on Mental Illness Wood County.

5. BGSU wireless network maintenance scheduled for June 22

Information Technology Services (ITS) will perform maintenance to the BGSU wireless networks beginning at 10 p.m. on Thursday, June 22 until 2 a.m. Friday, June 23. During this timeframe, users connected to the BGSU wireless network(s) may experience minor service instability.

6. Jodi Webb retirement reception

Jodi Webb, associate vice president for student affairs, is retiring from BGSU after 34 years of service! If your schedule allows, please stop by the Pub 1910 in the Bowen-Thompson Student Union from 3-6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 28 to wish her well and share a story about how your paths have crossed at BGSU over the years.

1. Interested in learning? Seeking an on-campus job?

The Office of Academic Assessment is looking to hire BGSU undergraduate students for Student Learning Analyst positions. A student in this position will collaborate with a team of students, develop and implement assessment projects, host virtual focus groups and conduct work using Microsoft Word and Excel.

1. Thesis and dissertation workshops

Formatting Your ETD and OhioLINK

Learn how to format your document using the required templates and how to complete the OhioLINK submission process. This workshop takes place at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 26 via Zoom.

Making Your Document Accessible

This workshop focuses on Acrobat Pro accessibility. All documents are required to be accessible online. We will show you how to create accessible headings, create alt text for your figures, graphs and tables and other table requirements, embed fonts, create bookmarks and fill in the document properties. This workshop takes place at 2 p.m. on June 28 via Zoom.

1. Search committee training for faculty/staff - Virtual

This training focuses on building inclusive searches and should be taken by anyone chairing or serving on a search committee. We will review definitions, information on identities, conflict of interests, expectations of the chair and committee members and ways search committees help advance overarching goals. An upcoming training will be held from 2-3 p.m. on Wednesday, June 21.
