1. Interested in playing or working for Intramural Sports?
Registration is now open for fall Intramural Sports. We will be offering Cornhole Doubles, 3v3 Basketball, 6v6 Volleyball, Spikeball, 6v6 Soccer, and both outdoor/indoor 7v7 Flag Football. For flag football, teams that advance to the semi-finals and championship games will get to play at Doyt L. Perry Stadium! Head to www.imleagues.com to make an account and sign up. 2. Start the semester off with mindfulness
Introduction to Mindfulness workshop is an ideal class if you have never practiced mindfulness and are looking for a basic overview. During the class you will learn the key concepts of mindfulness and how to develop a practice. All participants receive self-care resources. The sessions are free for faculty, staff and students!
Virtual sessions will take place on Zoom from noon to 1 p.m. on Sept. 15, 22, 29 and Oct. 6.
In-person sessions will take place in Studio B at the Rec Center from 5 to 6 p.m. on Sept. 12, 19, 26, and Oct. 3.

3. CURS Fall Grant 2nd application round NOW OPEN
The second application round for the CURS Fall Grant is now open with a submission deadline of Sept. 5 (one week extension is possible upon request if sent in advance to cmora@bgsu.edu).

Undergraduate research/scholarly/creative projects with a faculty mentor in any discipline are funded with up to $500 for the project cost ($750 for a group project of 3-5 students). Each student is expected to work a few hours per week on the project for 10 weeks during the fall semester and will receive a stipend of $200 for their work at the end of the project.
Application consists of:
- Online form (student(s) information, faculty mentor(s) information, general project information)
- Project narrative (2-3 pages including project title, introduction, scholarly question/topic, description of what student(s) is/are planning to do for the project, anticipated outcomes and brief discussion of how the project’s anticipated outcomes related to the project’s scholarly question/topic and how they fit into the current state of the project’s discipline)
- Budget (itemized list of anticipated purchases with individual costs as well as the total amount requested)
- Reference letter(s) by faculty mentor(s) indicating their support of the student and the project

4. End stigma by sharing your mental health story
The first week of October is Mental Illness Awareness Week. The Division of Health and Wellness and Recreation and Wellness is hosting a panel discussion featuring individuals with lived mental health experience. The goal of the event is to raise awareness, reduce stigma and provide education on mental health. If you are interested in serving on the panel, please complete the form. Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to participate.

5. Free pizza at Women's Soccer tonight at 5 p.m.
The Falcon's Women's Soccer team takes on the Cincinnati Bearcats tonight at 5 p.m. Free pizza will be given out to the first 100 students to the game. Admission is free for all fans. Head out to Cochrane Stadium for some Falcon Soccer!

6. Party on the Lot! - Catholic Falcons
The Catholic Falcon Community invites you to join us for a night of fun for our annual Party on the Lot! It begins at 6 p.m. tonight, Aug. 25, and there will be free food, a Kona Ice Truck and games for everyone! Come have a fun time and get to know others at St. Thomas More Parish, right across the street from Einstein Bagels!

1. Looking for international student volunteers
The Bowling Green State University Food and Nutrition Program is looking for volunteers for a research study. The purpose of the study is to understand the effects of dietary changes on body weight, risk factors of diabetes and heart diseases, and taste preference among newly arrived international students. The study includes three visits throughout the first academic year. Each visit takes approximately one hour.
You will receive free health assessments, your diet profiles, and be compensated up to $45 in Amazon electronic gift cards.

5. $30,000 Truman Scholarship for public service
The Truman Scholarship is a nationally competitive $30,000 merit-based grant awarded to undergraduate students who seek financial support to attend graduate or professional school in preparation for careers in government/public service.
The Foundation seeks candidates who:
- have extensive records of public and community service
- are committed to careers in government or elsewhere in public service
- have outstanding leadership potential and communication skills.
You must be a junior to apply. A pre-application is due in the Honors College office (024 Founders Hall) before 5 p.m. on Oct. 14. A faculty committee will review the materials and make recommendations for BGSU nominees. You do NOT have to be in the Honors College to be considered!

6. Want a STEM research career? Goldwater Scholarship
The Goldwater Scholarship Program was created to encourage outstanding students majoring in mathematics, the natural sciences or engineering who intend to pursue research careers in these fields. This is a nationally competitive scholarship that provides support for tuition, room and board, books and fees up to a maximum of $7,500 annually. Students can apply in their sophomore and/or junior years only.

1. Organizing your Canvas shell for Graduate Student Instructors
Are you new to Canvas or would you like to streamline your current courses? Organizing material in Canvas can feel overwhelming, especially if you are new to the process. This presentation will review a Canvas design that helps to deliver course content in a simplified manner that students will find refreshing, thereby eliminating email, questions and frustrations on both your end and the students'. By using Pages and Modules and having clear timelines and outcomes established at the beginning of the semester, all users are off to success from day one!
At the end of the session, the participants will be able to:
- Design a Canvas course that students can easily and efficiently navigate.
- Create weekly Modules that are detailed and organized.
- Link your syllabus to the Canvas To Do list and Gradebook for the entire semester.

1. Expand Your Horizons Fair registration time!

3. Teaching with Primary Sources Learning Community
The University Libraries are happy to announce a new session of our Teaching with Primary Sources Learning Community. Throughout the fall semester, we will host six sessions discussing primary sources and best practices for using them in the classroom.
Participants will work toward the development of a lesson plan or assignment for use in future teaching. The sessions will be most useful for instructors teaching courses in the arts and humanities.
Join members of the Jerome Library Special Collections in the Collab Lab from 10:30 a.m. to noon on the dates below:
