Feel like a kid again at Big Playground Late Night on Feb. 24 from 8 to 11 p.m. This 2000s themed event will feature inflatables, free food, crafts, cardio yoga, 3v3 basketball tournaments and free Big Playground shirts to the first 100 attendants, as well as the chance to make your very own stuff-a-plush for the first 200 attendants! The College Panhellenic Conference (CPC) will be hosting a Walkathon for Diabetes Youth Services, a local nonprofit that not only raises awareness for juvenile (type I) diabetes, but also provides educational resources and services to both children and parents. This service event will take place on March 27. The official walk will begin at 11 a.m., but at 10 a.m. we invite participants and/or volunteers to meet in the Union Oval (the starting point for the walk) and enjoy free food and beverages, and the opportunity to learn more about DYS and CPC.

The Creative Minds Series presents Dustin Lance Black: The Power of Story on Thursday, Feb. 10, at 7:30 p.m. in Kobacker Hall. The storyteller, social activist and Oscar Award-winning screenwriter (Milk, 2009) will share a handful of his own creative, personal and political stories to help shine a light on the incredible, transformative power of personal storytelling – whether such tales are shared on film, television, a theatre stage, courtroom, boardroom or across that most powerful stage there is for change: your own dining room table. The C. Raymond Marvin Center for Student Leadership is pleased to announce the 10th annual Ray Marvin Leadership Awards to recognize the leadership contributions of BGSU students. Award recipients will receive a monetary gift ($5,000, $4,000 or $3,000) based on the assessment of their completed application, supporting materials and finalist interview. Application due Feb. 18. Honoring, Urging, and Empowering (HUE) Queer and Trans People of Color is meeting Thursday, Feb. 3, at 6 p.m. in 427 BTSU. H.U.E. is a community and weekly support group for queer and trans people of color here at BGSU! We are open to undergraduate and graduate students alike. Supported by the LGBTQ+ Resource Center and the Counseling Center, Out(?) Falcons is a support group for people questioning their sexual orientation and/or gender identity, as well as people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, pansexual, queer and/or trans. This group provides a safe space to share experiences, gain support for challenges impacting your life and the LGBTQ+ community, explore your thoughts and feelings, and build relationships with people who have similar experiences. This group is facilitated by LGBTQ+ Programs and Counseling Center staff members who identify within the LGBTQ+ community to ensure a welcoming and confidential space.

BGSU undergraduate students (age 18+) are being recruited for a study to identify, categorize and understand the opinions of college students regarding their future work/job goals and feelings about self-reliance (BGSU IRB #1834837). Students who complete the Q-grid (Excel file) and questionnaire will receive a $10 Starbucks gift card. The grid and questionnaire will take about 30 minutes to complete.
Camtasia is a powerful application that allows you to record your screen and create and share dynamic videos. You can use Camtasia to record PowerPoint lectures, Canvas course introductions, homework reviews and other custom videos that are tailored around your content. The Center for Faculty Excellence is offering a demonstration of the screen capture software for BGSU faculty members.
