As a result of the grant, students will receive the three teacher resource books for free. Additionally, after implementing a unit developed in the course, students will receive a check for $250 to spend as they wish.

This course is designed to educate teachers and future teachers on how to utilize primary sources in a classroom through a variety of strategies. Due to a grant obtained from the Library of Congress, students will each earn a $250 stipend following the implementation of their final unit and for participating in survey questions telling how to make this course better for the Library of Congress to use as a model course. Three books (teacher resources) will also be provided (a $125 value).

1. Creating Engaging Microlearning Videos Workshops

BGSU faculty had to quickly transition to remote learning over the past year. While transitioning many faculty have decided to implement videos within their courses. Often times instructors may find that participation is low in synchronous lectures and are looking to find more efficient ways to engage students in their subject matter. In this workshop instructors will be able to define what microlearning videos are and the benefits of producing this type of video, discuss the steps and best practices involved in creating microlearning videos and be able to determine what platform is best to host videos while keeping in mind best practices for accessibility.

Register for a Creating Engaging Microlearning Videos workshop being offered by the Center for Faculty Excellence.
