3. Earn your AI in Higher Ed Badge from the CFE!
The Center for Faculty Excellence (CFE) is offering an exciting new digital badge opportunity! You can earn your AI in Higher Ed badge by attending events in the CFE’s AI Event Series. This series includes panel discussions with faculty, instructors and students on the use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (genAI) and its effects on teaching, learning, scholarship and creativity.

4. Join us for Asian Studies Forum: The impact of Chinese culture and politics on entrepreneurship
Dr. Shaojun Bai, professor of business, Xian International Study University, China, will share his expert analysis and insights about the Chinese entrepreneurship and political environment focused on development of Chinese advanced manufacturing enterprises.
Dr. Man Zhang, professor in the BGSU Allen W. and Carol M. Schmidthorst College of Business and Asian Studies Advisory Committee member, will moderate the Q&A following the lecture. This event will take place from 1 to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 28, in 208 Bowen-Thompson Student Union. The event is free and open to the public.

4. CCCC kickoff party!
The Cross-Cultural Conversation Connection (CCCC) invites you to our kickoff party from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 20, in the Centennial Meeting Room.
The purpose of the CCCC Program is to develop cultural understanding in today's global community by matching international and American students in conversation groups. At the Kickoff Party, participants get to meet one another and learn more about the activities for the semester.
CCCC is still accepting group member and group leader applications. Group leaders are generally upper-class standing (third year, fourth year and beyond or graduate students), but all applications will be considered. There's still time to apply and join the CCCC community!

11. Student IMPACT kick-off meeting tomorrow
IMPACT is hosting a kick-off event at 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 15, in the Education building Room 203! This meeting will consist of round table discussions about the different education programs, a Mursion sim demonstration and what Student IMPACT offers to its members. We will have games, door prizes, a giveaway and FREE food from Campus Pollyeyes! Targeting education majors but open to all. Join us for this fun and enriching kick-off event.

The Wellness Connection is offering a weekend training for students to become a BGSU Wellness Ambassador. Register for the weekend training session.

1. CFE workshop on Teaching Citations and Plagiarism Prevention
Do you want to be able to discuss plagiarism and citation practices with your students while avoiding the feelings of mistrust, shame and guilt that often are the result of these conversations? The Center for Faculty Excellence (CFE) and University Libraries will be offering an in-person workshop, “From Punishment to Empowerment: Considering a Cultural Shift in Teaching Citations and Plagiarism Prevention,” with workshop facilitators, Laura Sheets, assistant professor and library instruction coordinator and Maureen Barry, acting first year experience coordinator.
This workshop will explore how to talk about citations and academic dishonesty with students in a way that can ease stress and create a relationship of care between you and your students. This workshop will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 3, in Olscamp 106.

2. Join the CFE for the NCFDD 14-Day Writing Challenge!
Do you want to discover a writing community and gain supportive accountability? Join the CFE for the NCFDD 14-Day Writing Challenge!
The CFE will be hosting a kick-off event for the challenge, "Write On-Site: A Special Session to Boost Our Writing and Research Productivity," with Dr. Lisa Hanasono from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Thursday, Sept. 28, in the Jerome Library Collab Lab.
Then, the CFE will host a 30-minute drop-in writing session. These sessions will take place in-person in Olscamp 106 and online via Zoom. The first drop-in writing session will be held from 3:30 to 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 11.
