2. Dr. Cristina Cruz Gonzalez to deliver the 2023 Art History Lecture
Dr. Cristina Cruz Gonzalez will deliver the 2023 Art History Lecture on "Global Sanctity and the Colonial Imaginary" on Monday, Feb. 13, at 5 p.m. in the Donnell Theater in the Wolfe Center on the BGSU campus. Dr. Gonzalez is an expert in the art of Latin America and the making of female saints in New Spain. The event is free and open to the public. This is not an event you'll want to miss!

3. Harry Potter trivia tonight in Pub 1910
Join us tonight from 8:00 to 9:30 p.m. at Pub 1910 for trivia! This week will be Harry Potter themed. 4. Campus ReStore is open this Thursday! Free admission!
The Campus ReStore, an initiative of Campus Sustainability, will be open this Thursday, Feb. 9, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for current students, faculty and staff. There is no admission charge and all items are free. Come check out gently used and sometimes new items and support waste reduction/reuse at BGSU! Three-ring binders for all occasions! Office supplies, clothing, household items, toys, decorations, sporting goods, books of all kinds, crafting supplies, water bottles and much more! Enter the glass sliding doors of McDonald Hall off College Avenue across from Life Science.

5. Retour du Cercle français: Meet with us on Wednesday
Meet with us on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in Shatzel 103. Get to know other students in French to exchange your interests and brush up on your French without having to stress about being in a classroom. Explore the Jeux de société (games) "Taboo" and/or "L'Imposteur" in French this week. All levels of French are welcome.

6. One week! Free Kronos Quartet concert on Feb. 14!
The 2023 Hansen Musical Arts Series presents the Kronos Quartet at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 14, in Kobacker Hall. One of the most celebrated and influential groups of our era, Kronos has given thousands of concerts worldwide, released more than 70 recordings, and collaborated with many of the world’s most accomplished composers and performers across many genres. This event is free and open to the public (no tickets required)!

8. Free Yoga/Reiki class and Valentine’s Day jewelry making - Come for one or both!
Yoga Flow, Reiki and Well-Being Socials
These social events will take place on Feb. 10 and April 14 at the Student Recreation Center in Studio B (basement level).
- Yoga and Reiki Class: 6:15 to 7:00 p.m.
- Well-Being Social: 7:00 to 7:45 p.m.
- February social activity and conversation: Valentine's Day-themed jewelry-making and self-compassion conversations.
- April social activity and conversation: Craft to be announced and managing end-of-semester stress and anxiety.
Join Group X instructors, Bryant and Maria, for this special class that includes a 15-minute upbeat vinyasa flow incorporating exercise and breathwork, followed by a 30-minute yin portion of the class with optional hands-on reiki assistance. This is the perfect balance of yin and yang, allowing the body to become energized and then balancing that with calm breathing and slow stretching. Following the yoga/reiki class will be the well-being social. This includes tea, snacks, a craft activity and empowering conversations. You can come for the yoga/reiki class, well-being social – or both!

2. Downtown BG resident focus group
Do you live in downtown Bowling Green? Would you like your voice heard?
The City of Bowling Green is one of three Northwest Ohio communities participating in the 2022 Cohort of the Reimagining Rural Regions (R3) Initiative. The R3 program is a community-led placemaking effort that seeks to engage the community to identify assets that residents can reimagine to improve the quality of life in their community.
On Wednesday, Feb. 15, at 5:30 p.m., the Center for Regional Development (CRD) is hosting a focus group to get your thoughts on downtown living. The R3 Team will hold the focus group at 400 E. Poe Rd., Bowling Green. The lot is eligible for commuter parking. The CRD will also provide single-use parking passes. Refreshments will be provided.

4. Deadline extended: Join the Mortar Board today!

To join the Mortar Board you must be a senior in credit hours in the fall semester of 2023 and you must have a GPA of 3.2 or higher.
To apply for Mortar Board, please write an essay on what scholarship, leadership and service mean to you and send in a resume highlighting things such as your schooling, awards, various clubs and organizations that you are a part of, volunteer experience and any other things that you would like to let us know about! 5. Apply for the Ray Marvin Leadership Award!
The C. Raymond Marvin Center for Student Leadership and Civic Engagement is pleased to announce the Ray Marvin Leadership Award to recognize the leadership contributions of BGSU students. BGSU undergraduate students who have completed 30 credit hours are eligible to apply for this award. Candidates will be asked to demonstrate through their application how they have developed and demonstrated their leadership while a student at BGSU. Applications are due on Friday, Feb. 17. 6. Cocoa and condoms with the PAWS Team
Join the Wellness Connection and the PAWS Team at the Jerome Library Market this Thursday, Feb. 9, from 6 to 8 p.m. for our annual cocoa and condoms night! 8. America on Fire: A brief history of Black protests against police
With the release of video footage of Memphis police killing Tyre Nichols, massive protests against police violence are taking place once again across the country. This week’s meeting of the “Finding Your Voice in Social Justice” Learning Community is focused on the long history of Black activism against state violence and racism, with a particular emphasis on movements from the 1950s to the present. Using these movements as a starting point, we will consider what changes these movements sought, the forms that their activism took, and the limits of reform in our own time.

9. Study abroad in Rome this summer!
Come to an informational Zoom meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 8, at 12:30 p.m. about studying Roman history in the "Eternal City" (Roma Aeterna) during Summer Session I. You'll live in Rome for three weeks (May 17 - June 6), study Rome's history, and visit the physical remains in their original spaces and museums. Students will earn credit for this Education Abroad experience as HIST 3445: Roman history (multidisciplinary credit).

1. GSS Regalia Award applications are due Friday!
The GSS Regalia Award helps to support graduate students who may need help covering the cost of renting regalia (for Doctoral students) or purchasing regalia (for Master’s students). We are excited to bring this application back for the spring semester!
To be eligible for the award, the applicant must:
- be currently enrolled in a recognized BGSU graduate degree program
- have a graduation application on file with the Graduate College.
All recipients must be in good standing with BGSU and the applicant's department must be in good standing with GSS. Individuals belonging to censured departments will not be eligible to receive professional funding or awards from GSS. If you are unsure about your department's status with GSS, please reach out to GSS@bgsu.edu.
Please submit your regalia award application form on the Graduate Student Senate Canvas page by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 10. Your application will include a short essay that specifically describes the reasons why you are in need of assistance in covering the cost of renting/purchasing regalia and why your attendance at the graduation ceremony is important to you. If you do not have access to the Canvas page but believe you should, please contact gss@bgsu.edu prior to the deadline. Submissions will only be accepted on Canvas. 2. "Up and at Em": How to get better sleep
Getting a good night’s sleep is crucial for your overall health and well-being. Unfortunately, many people do not get the amount of sleep they need each night. This can lead to a number of physical health problems such as obesity, diabetes, heart disease and more. Lack of sleep can also cause irritability, anxiety, poor judgment and even depression. A good night’s sleep can improve your memory, creativity, productivity and decision-making skills.
Join Jeanette DiLucia, director of the Respiratory and Sleep Lab from Wood County Hospital, on Wednesday, Feb. 8 or 22, from noon to 12:45 p.m. at BGSU Bowen-Thompson Student Union, room 201, for a very informative Lunch and Learn. 3. Falcon Futbol Youth Clinic
Join BG Women's Soccer in March and April for their Spring Youth Clinic!
