7. Greasy pizza boxes are trash, not recycling
The Office of Campus Sustainability would like to remind everyone that greasy pizza boxes are not recyclable, and especially not with food in them. We have been seeing an alarming number of pizza boxes contaminating our recycling stream. This contamination threatens the integrity of our BGSU recycling program, so please remember to throw away your used pizza boxes.
You may also take them to the GoZero City of Bowling Green Food Drop-off containers across from the BGSU Aviation building where they can be composted. Also, if the top of the pizza box is not greasy, you can rip off the top to recycle and discard the bottom. Help us recycle right! When in doubt, throw it out! Email greenbg@bgsu.edu with any recycling questions.

2. Global Migrations in Film
Migration is both an urgent contemporary issue and an inherently complex phenomenon that must be approached from multiple disciplinary angles. This spring, look at film representations of migration from a variety of post-1970 periods and regions, especially migrations to the U.S. and Europe. By combining humanities (which often emphasize individual experiences/empathy) and social science approaches (which analyze underlying causes of, and possible solutions), this course will equip you with a fuller understanding of and response to the issues of migration. Films to be considered will range from 1980s classic such as "El Norte" to more recent offerings like Ai Weiwei's 2017 "Human Flow" and 2019 "Joy" by Sudabeh Mortezai.
Combined course is offered as both WRLD 3150-1002 (#16382) and INST 3800-1002 and meets from 1:00 to 2:15 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

10. Religious LGBTQ+ discrimination
So far in 2023, there have been 586 anti-Trans bills that have been tracked in 49 of the 50 states. While, fortunately, 125 of them have failed, 85 have become law and another 376 are still active. A major force behind this widespread discrimination is motivated by religion. With the upcoming Trans Remembrance Day on Monday, Nov. 20, the BGSU Secular Student Alliance will be holding a meeting to discuss this issue and other cases of religious discrimination against the LGBTQ+ community. They invite anyone who wants to participate in their meeting from 6 to 7 p.m. tomorrow in Central Hall 110.
