1. Be a part of the 2022 Eco-Fair!

On Wednesday, April 13, Campus Sustainability will be hosting our annual Eco-Fair from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. where all kinds of organizations gather to educate students about the environment. We are looking for student organizations, classes, projects, departments or initiatives that focus on environmental sustainability and care for the earth to join us by staffing a table at this informative and fun outdoor event. Participants share information and educate/share with the University community. Participation is free.

2. Earn up to $25 for completing a study looking at pictures!

The Department of Psychology at Bowling Green State University is conducting a study examining people’s reactions to viewing pictures of different body images.

Eligibility Criteria:

By filling out the survey, you will be entered into a raffle to win a $20 Amazon gift card. If eligible, the principle investigator, Aubrey Dauber, will email you to invite you to part two of the study, which is a 30-minute in-person lab experiment. Part two of the study requires participants to wear three facial electrodes so eyeblink data can be collected while viewing images of body pictures. By completing part two of the study, you will be compensated with a $5 Amazon gift card!

3. Free SNL style COMEDY SHOW!

This Saturday, Lady Parts Comedy welcomes back some professionals! Join us as we reunite with comedy legends at our alumni show. It's going to be a crazy night filled with drama, nostalgia and hilarious jokes nonstop. The show will be in Education Building room 115, at 7 p.m. It is free to attend! 4. Hot topic: Who are pride parades for?

The Office of Multicultural Affairs runs a biweekly "hot topics" series to engage BGSU students, faculty and staff from varying backgrounds and social identities to engage in difficult discussions based on current events, pop culture, structural inequalities, new policies/laws and much more.

Our next hot topic will be a discussion of pride parades, who they are for and their purpose.

Snacks will be provided!

5. Life Design presents - The Multifaceted Woman panel discussion

Join Life Design as we commemorate Women's History Month with a panel discussion on what it means to be a multifaceted woman. Panelists from across campus will share their life, academic and professional experiences with Life Design students and other attendees. Guests will learn new perspectives, resources and tools that can support them during their time here at BGSU and beyond.

Registration is recommended, but not required. Use the registration form to submit questions to panelists.

6. New west campus gateway construction start of work

Construction activities related to the new west campus gateway project will be starting next week on Monday, March 21. This new gateway will be built on the site of the former Administration Building. Disruptions to sidewalks and roadways will remain minimal, and will be similar to what they currently are around the site.

Caution should be exercised near and around the site due to construction vehicles entering and leaving the site.

All work is expected to be completed by the end of July.

7. Register to vote!

Do you need to register to vote or update your address on your voter registration? Come see BGSU Votes outside of the Education Building from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays until the registration deadline, April 4. The Ohio Primary Election is May 3! 8. Speaker series: The importance of youth voting TONIGHT

BGSU Votes and Undergraduate Student Government will be hosting our first speaker event TONIGHT at 6 p.m. in Olscamp room 225. Join us, along with local elected officials, to discuss the importance of the youth vote, voter engagement among diverse populations, and how to run for elected office.

1. BG's Got Talent - $50 GRAND PRIZE

BGSU Collegiate Chorale is hosting BG's Got Talent, a talent show fundraiser, on April 16! BUT ... we need acts! Come out to the College of Musical Arts at BGSU in Room 2115 to audition for BG's Got Talent! Auditions for talent acts will be held Sunday, March 20, noon to 6 p.m. and on Monday, March 21, from 6 to 8 p.m., we will be auditioning for our MC! Come prepared with a 2-5 minute act to show us. We are so excited to see your talent! The winner receives a $50 cash prize!

3. Calling all Gemini vegetarians for Legally Blonde!

4. Center For Women and Gender Equity and Undergraduate Student Government ESSAY CONTEST

Submit an original 500-word essay for the Center For Women and Gender Equity’s essay contest based on the following prompt for the chance to win a cash prize!

5. Don’t miss your chance to dine with President Rogers

Your voice makes a difference, so we have extended the annual Changing Campus Climate survey to give you a chance to participate. If you have already responded, thank you! 8. MARK YOUR CALENDARS! Pride Parade coming soon!

As a part of BGSU’s annual Rainbow Days, LGBTQ+ Programs will be putting on a Pride Parade. The purpose of this event is to create a safe space exclusively on campus for students who have never been able to attend pride due to the pandemic, feel unsafe to attend a pride function at home, and to allow space to express ourselves freely while sharing our identity of being LGBTQ+ BGSU students.

This event is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, in the Union Oval. Check-in will begin at 11:00 a.m. The parade will start promptly at 11:30 a.m. and will be a short stroll around campus together followed by a short kick-back to enjoy space with one another. 9. McNair Scholars program accepting new cohort members!

Are you interested in research? Is there a topic you are interested in that you would like to learn more about? Are you interested in pursuing graduate school after your graduation from BGSU? Would you like the opportunity to stay on campus for the summer and get PAID to do your own independent research?

The Ronald E. McNair Scholars program is looking for students interested in pursuing research and graduate school plans after completing their undergraduate program! Some of the benefits we offer are personalized advising, graduate school preparation and campus visits, and payment for research completed during our summer research program.

12. POLS Career Connection: Lawyering & Activism

Join us for the next Political Science Career Connection on Facebook Live at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 24. Lawyer Reem Subei will join BGSU students & community members to answer questions about career opportunities ranging public interest legal fields - including both legal practice and advocacy. Reem is senior attorney for Muslim Advocates, and previously served as a senior attorney at Advocates for Basic Legal Equality (ABLE) in Toledo. Reem will share her path from undergraduate to law school to legal practice. The event allows students seeking legal, non-profit and public advocacy careers to get advice on the possible strategies to achieve their goals.

13. Rainbow Threads event

Rainbow Threads is a gender affirming clothing boutique and exchange program. On March 30 from 4 to 7 p.m., participants will have the opportunity to donate or exchange clothing with other students. As part of our Rainbow Threads event, The Rainbow Fund through LGBTQ+ Programs is offering to purchase new gender affirming items for students who do not have the means to purchase them themselves. In an effort to serve the greatest number of students we are limiting each individual purchase to $40 total and can provide items for a total of 30 students. This event is open to all currently enrolled BGSU students and is on a first-come-first-served basis.

14. Reflections and revelations: Mirror painting and a discussion on beauty standards

Come and join us for the end of Women's History Month as we discuss beauty standards as well as celebrating all forms of beauty with mirror painting. Mirrors are first come, first served and there is a limited supply!

15. Volunteer at Friday Night Lights

Join Campus Sustainability for Friday Night Lights this Friday and every Friday. Get volunteer credit by turning off lights in buildings around campus in order to reduce CO2 emissions and combat global warming. If you would like to come, there's no prior sign up needed, just head to the second floor of the union outside the theater by 6:30 p.m.

2. Money Mindset Masterclass

Join the Office of Multicultural Affairs and the Center for Women and Gender Equity on March 21 in BTSU 201A from noon to 1 p.m. for an interactive experience this Womxn’s History Month with wealth advisor and founder of Financially EmpowHERed, Stephanie Georgakopoulos!

The Money Mindset Masterclass is a phenomenal experience where womxn learn the four money personality types (Money Evader, Money Idolizer, Money Spender and Money Saver), how their type has impacted their relationship with money, how it has held them back and what they can do to change that relationship. The session will also dive deep into the eight most common money blocks that appear due to these personality traits and actionable tips and tricks to eradicate them fast!

Masks are encouraged. Please feel free to bring your lunch with you.

3. Webinar - How to be a Strong Sponsor and Advocate for Faculty

Synopsis: This flipped session is designed to give participants a space to engage, discuss and practice strategies for being a stronger sponsor and advocate for faculty. Prior to this session, participants will be asked to watch the NCFDD webinar titled “How to Be a Strong Sponsor and Advocate for Faculty”, which features BGSU professor and BGSU ALLIES principal investigator, Dr. Peg Yacobucci. During the session, we will engage in a lively discussion session and participants will have opportunities to apply some of the strategies, best practices and ideas that Dr. Yacobucci shared in her NCFDD webinar.
