1. Every Semester Needs a Plan

  • Synopsis:  In this session, we will screen the NCFDD’s Core Curriculum Webinar titled “Every Semester Needs a Plan” which provides a step-by-step guide on creating a research plan for the Spring 2022 semester. After the screening, we will engage in a short discussion about our Spring 2022 research/writing goals and our plans for getting them done!

2. Media Interviews and Relationship Building
  • Date: Thursday, March 3, 2022
  • Time: 1:00-2:00PM
  • Location: Zoom
  • Synopsis: In this session, participants will learn how to share their research and scholarship with journalists and other members of the media. We will stream the NCFDD’s recorded webinar titled “Media Interviews and Relationship Building” and then engage in a discussion session.

3. How to Develop a Daily Writing Practice
  • Date: Friday, March 25, 2022
  • Time: 10:00-11:00AM
  • Location: Zoom
  • Synopsis: In this flipped session, participants will be asked to pre-watch the NCFDD’s Core Curriculum Webinar titled “How to Develop a Daily Writing Practice.” During this session, we will gather to discuss different strategies for developing daily writing practices and advancing our research projects.

4. How to Translate Your Research for a General Audience
  • Date: Wednesday, April 27th 2022
  • Time: 10:00-11:00AM
  • Location: Zoom
  • Synopsis: This flipped session is designed to help BGSU faculty, administrators, post docs, staff, and graduate students communicate their research findings to broader publics for the public good. Prior to the scheduled session, participants will be invited to view the NCFDD webinar titled “How to Translate Your Research for a General Audience,” which is presented by Dr. Danielle Bainbridge (a host of the PBS Digital Studies series “The Origin of Everything” and a faculty member at Northwestern University). During the session, BGSU members will convene to discuss and practice some of the strategies from the webinar.

5. How to be a Strong Sponsor and Advocate for Faculty
  • Date: Monday, May 2, 2022
  • Time: 2:00-3:00PM
  • Location: Zoom
  • Synopsis: This flipped session is designed to give participants a space to engage, discuss, and practice strategies for being a stronger sponsor and advocate for faculty. Prior to this session, participants will be asked to watch the NCFDD webinar titled “How to Be a Strong Sponsor and Advocate for Faculty” which features BGSU Professor and BGSU ALLIES Principal Investigator, Dr. Peg Yacobucci. During the session, we will engage in a lively discussion session, and participants will have opportunities to apply some of the strategies, best practices, and ideas that Dr. Yacobucci shared in her NCFDD webinar.
