1. Supporting Faculty During and After the COVID-19 Pandemic
  • Date: Friday, September 3rd

  • Synopsis: In this session, we will stream an online NCFDD presentation by Dr. Leslie D. Gonzales, and then BGSU members in attendance will engage in a discussion (led by BGSU faculty member Dr. Lisa Hanasono) about how BGSU and its members can support faculty during and after the pandemic.

2. Teaching with Empathy and for Equity at the Graduate Level
  • Date: Tuesday, October 5th
  • Time: 1:00 - 2:00 PM
  • Location: Zoom
  • Synopsis: In this session, we will stream an online NCFDD presentation by Dr. Jessica Calarco, and then BGSU members in attendance will engage in a discussion (led by BGSU faculty member Dr. Lisa Hanasono) about how BGSU faculty might implement and/or adapt some of the recommendations in their classes, mentoring, and work with graduate students.

3. Building a Publishing Pipeline 2.0
  • Date: Wednesday, November 10th
  • Time: 10:00 - 11:00 AM
  • Location: Flipped Discussion / Zoom. Participants will be invited to watch one to all of Dr. Erin Furtak’s Building a Publishing Pipeline 2.0 videos and then join an online discussion among BGSU faculty, administrators, and graduate students who would like to discuss their publishing pipelines and project management tips/techniques. 
  • Synopsis: In this flipped faculty development session, registered participants will be asked to watch one or all of Dr. Erin Furtak’s “Building a Publishing Pipeline 2.0” recorded webinars beforehand. On November 10th, BGSU participants will meet via Zoom to discuss and workshop their publishing pipelines and share strategies/tips for moving their multiple research projects forward.

4. How to Conquer Academic Writer's Block
  • Date: Wednesday, December 8th 
  • Time: 10:00 - 11:20 AM
  • Location: Zoom
  • Synopsis: In this session, we will stream an online NCFDD presentation by Dra. Aurora Chang, and then BGSU members in attendance will engage in a discussion (led by BGSU faculty member Dr. Lisa Hanasono) about how to implement strategies for overcoming academic writer’s block.
