1. Bringing voices from the past into conversations of today!

In its new podcast series, Archival Encounters, the Center for Archival Collections (CAC) uses primary sources from its unique collections, particularly oral history interviews, to bring voices from the past into conversation with the present. Each encounter will explore historical figures from the many histories documented within the CAC’s collections, including those of BGSU, northwest Ohio, the Great Lakes, national student affairs and rare books, and will include discussions with a BGSU scholar or community expert to contextualize their stories and illuminate their relevance to the world today.

3. Join CWGE's Feminist Fiction Book Club this semester!

Join our Feminist Fiction Book Club facilitated by the Center for Women and Gender Equity (CWGE)! This semester we will take an intersectional feminist approach to reading Swing Time by Zadie Smith. We hope to provide a space to discuss how feminism in the novel intersects with gender, nationality, race, economic stratification and more. Space in the book club is limited, and the first ten people to register will receive a free copy of our book Swing Time provided by CWGE. The book club will begin in late January and meet weekly until the end of the semester. If you are interested in joining, please fill out this form by Friday, January 21, or reach out to Loni Stouffer with questions at istouff@bgsu.edu.

Published in 2016, Swing Time is a New York Times bestseller, a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award for Fiction, and longlisted for the Man Booker Prize.
