1. Come create your own tote bag to support BGSU AMWA

Design your own tote bag to support the American Medical Women's Association (AMWA). The event is Sept. 20 from 7-9 p.m. in BTSU 207. The cost is $6 Venmo and cash are accepted. All supplies and totes will be provided. We hope to see you there!

2. Constitution Day

BGSU’s Office of the Dean of Students will be tabling from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. today in the Bowen-Thompson Student Union for Constitution Day. Stop by and answer trivia about the Constitution to receive a fabulous prize!

3. Crafting to Show You Care with The Wellness Connection

Come stop by Sky Bank room 201 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 4 in the Bowen-Thompson Student Union for “Crafting to Show You Care!” Hosted by the Student Wellness network for Mental Health Awareness Week, activities include rock painting, gratitude journaling, coloring, writing messages of hope for display, and therapy dogs! 4. Fall CURS Grant Application Closing Soon

The 2nd Round of Fall CURS Grant Application Round is NOW OPEN.

Undergraduate research/scholarly/creative projects of 1-2 students with a faculty mentor in ANY discipline or field are funded with up to $500 toward project costs and a $200 stipend per student. Group projects (3-5 students) can ask for up to $750 with a $200 stipend for each student.

Application Deadline to apply is Monday, Sept. 20.

Applications are currently being accepted on our website.

Application consists of:
•Completion of online form (student(s) information, faculty mentor(s) information, general project information)
•Upload Project narrative (2-3 pages)
•Upload Budget (itemized list of anticipated purchases with individual costs & the total amount requested)
•Upload Reference Letter(s) by faculty mentor(s) indicating their support of the student and the project

Come one, come all to Grad Fair 2021 - Whether you've already applied to grad school or are simply exploring the possibility, you won't want to miss it!

There will be plenty of engaging presentations and panel discussions on BGSU's Graduate College and its programs, as well as information on external graduate and professional schools. There will also be opportunities for 1:1 sessions.

7. Looking to Volunteer? Click here!

The Wood County Suicide Prevention Coalition will be hosting Silent Watch on Sept. 30 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. in front of the Wood County Courthouse. Silent Watch is an event to honor the 20-25 military veterans that end their own lives every single day. Volunteers will sign up for a 20 minute shift where they will silently “stand watch” in front of the flag. For more information or to sign up email krowland@wcadamh.org.

It's HOMECOMING! And what better way to celebrate than Fireworks? Stick around after the game Saturday for fireworks on the North end of the stadium above the Sebo Center. The game starts at 5 p.m.

9. The Student Wellness Network wants YOU!

Are you looking for a way to get involved and make a difference on campus? The Bowling Green State University Student Wellness Network is a prevention, education, and advocacy group that promotes holistic wellness through interactive presentations, community events, service, and role modeling. Student Wellness Network members plan fun, educational events on topics such as alcohol and other drug awareness, healthy lifestyles, nutrition, sexual health and body image while simultaneously making strong connections with each other and other campus offices. Join our student organization by attending our next meeting which is Tuesday, Sept. 21 from 7:30-8:30 p.m. in the Student Recreation Center (SRC) conference room, located on the lower level floor. We are excited to welcome all students to all our Falcon Athletics home games! Students receive one free season ticket to each of our ticketed sports: Football, Volleyball, Hockey, Women’s Basketball, and Men’s Basketball.

Admission is FREE for all other sports.

All tickets will be digital and can be accessed through your Ticket Office account. Accounts will be created for new students. Once tickets become available, another e-mail will be sent with instructions on how to login and access your tickets!

3. Bullet Journal with UAO!

Join University Activities Organization for Bullet Journaling! The semester is just getting started so why not pick up a new hobby? Find your own system of organization, to-dos, lists, and scheduling in your own personal style. We will provide pens, markers, stickers, and tape but only 120 journals and pens to take home. Be sure to come see us and hang out because numbers are limited!

7. Get your writing published on HerCampus.com, the #1 online publication for college women!

Her Campus at BGSU is our campus’s chapter of Her Campus, an online lifestyle magazine for female-identifying college students written by female-identifying college students. We write about style, career, wellness, culture, and college life!

Our first staff meeting is on Sunday, September 19th from 2-4pm. That is where we will get new members all set up to start writing and having work published! We will have time to socialize and get to know one another, establish our writing content schedule, pitch article ideas, and get everyone connected who is interested in specialized teams like editing and marketing.

We ask members to contribute about three articles per month (can also be more or less depending on your schedule). Weekly expectations are: general meeting attendance (meetings will take place Sundays at 2pm) & article writing. While every member is required to write, we have other opportunities available. Copy editing, event planning, marketing, graphic design, videography, photography & community engagement to name a few!

2. Application date approaches for Learning Community

The University Libraries is happy to announce a Teaching with Primary Sources learning community. Throughout the semester we will be hosting four sessions discussing primary sources and best practices for using them in the classroom. Participants will work toward the development of a lesson plan or assignment for use in future teaching. The sessions will be most useful for instructors teaching courses in the arts and humanities.

Participants who successfully complete all four sessions will be eligible for a $200 stipend (taxable) or professional development funds. Applications are due by September 22, 2021. Apply today!

Copying New Quizzes - The course import process fails to import New Quizzes from course to course. A work around for this is to copy from the quizzes area. Learn how to copy a new quiz from course to course with this guide.

4. CFE Associate Director Candidate Open Workshops

The Center for Faculty Excellence will be holding open workshops starting at 3:30 p.m. Sept. 22 for our three candidates for the position of Associate Director. We invite the campus community to join in on these workshops. The topic of the workshop will be: "What skill(s) do faculty need to be successful teachers in the next five years."

5. CWGE & WGSS Reception for New and Newly Promoted Faculty

The Reception honors all new and newly promoted faculty that identify as cis* or trans women, as well as non-binary people who are comfortable in a space that centers the experience of women. President Rogers, Provost Whitehead and Jennifer McCary (Chief Diversity and Belonging Officer) will attend to congratulate those promoted and welcome the new hires. This event is an excellent opportunity to celebrate and network with colleagues across the University. Honorees will also be given a small gift, and there will be take-away desserts for all attendees.

6. NHPW: Ask Me About My Number

Hi faculty and staff! As part of National Hazing Prevention Week, we are implementing the Ask Me About My Number campaign where student are moving around campus with buttons with numbers. Those numbers are associated with hazing related incidents and we are asking that you allow those students a few minutes to share with their classmates or other members in their organizations.
