The Department of Psychology at Bowling Green State University is conducting a study on the influence of memories on taste perception. If you enroll and complete the study, you will complete 1 in-person visit and 3 online visits. Over the course of the study, you will complete 16 days of answering questions about eating and emotions on your phone. On Aug. 25, from 9 to 11 a.m., BGSU's Public Good, Morning will allow students to give back to the Bowling Green community! Students will have the opportunity to gain volunteer hours by cleaning up and gardening around Mainstreet.

BGSU undergraduate students (age 18+) are being recruited for a study to identify, categorize, and understand the opinions of college students regarding their stresses, coping, and needs for academic/social support during the late stages of the COVID-19 crisis and beyond (BGSU IRB 1740736). Students who complete the Q-grid (Excel file) and questionnaire will receive a $5 Amazon.com gift card. The grid and questionnaire will take about 30 minutes to complete.

On Tuesday, Aug. 17 at 6 p.m., Anne Yeager, AFC will share information with participants on money and personal finances. The event will be held at Wintergarden Lodge and dinner will be provided. Space is limited and registration is required. The Center for Faculty Excellence is offering Active Learning Classroom (ALC) Workshops for interested faculty. After faculty complete this 2 part series, they will receive ALC Certification.
Part 1 will focus on active learning strategies and discuss how those strategies can be put to use in their classes.
Part 2 will show faculty how to use the ALC technology in the classroom. Please note that the ALC Strategies Part 1 is a prerequisite to ALC Technologies Part 2.
Laptops/Devices are Required for this workshop.

This 1-hour session serves as a virtual space for us to discuss steps we should take to prepare our courses for the fall semester. Our discussion will be based on a checklist and resources that can help our planning process. During the hour-long session, instructors will be encouraged to share their experiences, provide examples, and discuss best practices as we talk through important aspects of communicating with students, organizing our Canvas course shells, and preparing to teach via various methods of delivery this fall.

Designing Your Canvas Course lab is being offered to faculty who have basic skills in Canvas, but would like to take their course design to the next level. An instructional designer will begin the session with best practices on course design and assist instructors with course design questions. By the end of this lab, instructors will be able to design a course by organizing course materials into easy to navigate modules and integrate accessible course materials by utilizing Ally, an accessibility tool available in Canvas. Instructors will be given time to discuss and share their courses as well as receive feedback.
Pre-requisites:
• Completion of Introduction to Canvas or equivalent Canvas experience
• Laptop
• A Canvas Course Shell or Template to work in
• Course Materials
