1. Baseball hosts final home series of the season

The Falcon baseball team is set to host their final series of the season. BGSU hosts Northern Illinois in a four-game series starting today at 3 p.m. The Falcons will then host a doubleheader beginning at noon on Saturday. In the final game of the season, Falcons and Huskies square off at 1 p.m. All games will be held at Steller Field at Gary Haas Stadium.

2. Partial parking lot closure

Starting Tuesday, June 1, parking lot 7 will have sections closed for asphalt repair and striping throughout the week. This project is weather dependent.

3. Free Move For Your Mood Sessions

In addition to the physical health benefits of exercise, incorporating movement breaks into your day can positively impact your brain function, boost your mood, and help reduce stress, along with many other enhancements to mental health. Make your health and well-being a priority and join us for these upcoming low-impact movement sessions. All sessions are FREE for BGSU students, faculty and staff. Register here and receive updates about future fitness and wellness offerings.

Wednesdays, June 2, 9 & 16
12:10 – 12:50 p.m. in Eppler South Gym
Sessions include strength training exercises, low-impact cardiovascular movements and flexibility training. Changing into comfortable athletic shoes is recommended.

4. $150 in gift cards for tasting food and tracking meals!

The Department of Psychology at Bowling Green State University is conducting a study on the influence of memories on taste perception. If you enroll and complete the study, you will complete 1 in-person visit and 3 online visits. Over the course of the study, you will complete 16 days of answering questions about eating and emotions on your phone. Qualified participants who complete the study could earn up to $150 in gift cards!

1. Camtasia for Beginners Workshop

Camtasia is a powerful application that allows you to record your screen and create and share dynamic videos. You can use Camtasia to record PowerPoint lectures, Canvas course introductions, homework reviews, and other custom videos that are tailored around your content. The Center for Faculty Excellence is offering a demonstration of the Screen Capture Software for BGSU faculty members.

2. Building Community in a Virtual Classroom

Fostering a sense of community and belonging in remote learning contexts can help students feel less isolated and more connected to their peers, the instructor, and the course content. This workshop focuses on elements of online pedagogy that promote community building in remote learning. Referencing the Community of Inquiry framework, this session focuses on online and remote teaching strategies and Canvas tools that support Cognitive Presence (critical thinking and reflection), Teaching Presence (facilitating discussions, creating connections, and providing feedback and support), and Social Presence (student engagement, authentic peer interaction, shared goals, and collaboration).

3. Collaborating in a Virtual Classroom

This workshop serves as an introduction or review of communication and collaboration strategies and tools for effective online teaching and learning. In this workshop, we will discuss and explore effective Canvas features and teaching strategies that can help you create collaborative spaces and inclusive learning experiences in your online and remote course.
