2. Know a student in crisis? Here's how to help!

Help create a Community of Care at BGSU and make sure no Falcon struggles unnoticed and alone! Start the Conversation is a collaborative training offered by the Counseling Center and the Humanities Troupe from the Department of Theatre and Film. In the training, you will learn how to contribute to a community of care, how to identify the warning signs of people who may be struggling, and how to help (including suicide prevention strategies). Simple expressions of care are powerful, and you can make a difference in someone's life!

The next training is Wednesday, May 26, 3:00 to 4:30 p.m., Zoom. Register here and learn more about how you can help create a community of care at BGSU!

3. Register for the Midwest Campus Compact Watch Party

Compact21 is the Western and Midwestern Campus Compact’s 2021 conference series. This series will focus on Resilience and Responsibility for Racial and Environmental Justice, two components of the systemic injustice that result in the unkept promise of full and equitable participation in education, employment, health care and environmental quality.

Conference participants, students, community partners, national service members, veterans, faculty, staff, and administrators will explore how to partner in renewing the promise of full participation in higher education, a flourishing democracy, and productive, meaningful and gainful careers.

This will feature speakers Ken Reardon and Antoinette Carroll.

BGSU CPI will be hosting a viewing party for registrants with a Collaboratory demonstration before the conference starts. The event will be held in 310 University Hall in order to provide ample room for social distancing. Refreshments provided!

Reach out to the BGSU Center for Public Impact at publicimpact@bgsu.edu for more information.
