2. Tonight! Falcon Media and MICBGSU present: Live and Loud - Performance and Interview with The One-Eyed Show

Check out alumni band The One-Eyed Show as they do a feature performance and interview for Falcon Media's Live and Loud series, produced in partnership with WBGU-FM and BGSU's Music Industry Club. Watch as "St. Mary's Aging Boyband" performs a fusion of classic rock and roll, country, funk and blues, and gives insight into the recording of their much anticipated upcoming album, as well as their history as a band. Live and Loud premieres Monday, April 26 at 8 p.m. on the Falcon Media YouTube page and on bgfalconmedia.com. 4. Free Menstrual Kits and Diva Cups from the Wellness Connection

The Wellness Connection is offering free menstrual product kits for pick-up during finals week! Kits will be available for pick-up in the Wellness Connection, room 214 in the Student Recreation Center from 10am-5pm Monday, April 26th through Friday, April 30th! Kits Include: 5 Super+ Tampons 5 Regular Tampons 1 Light Tampon 6 Pads/Sanitary Napkins, a mix of Light and Super 5 Liners 45 Diva Cup brand menstrual cups will be available on a first come first serve basis. Please indicate at the sign-up link whether you would like a kit with just traditional menstrual products, just a menstrual cup, or both! 5. NIOT: Rise of Extremism Pt. 2

Join Not in Our Tow Bowling Green AND Detective Louis Espinosa from the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force for the second of a three-part series about the rise of extremism and domestic terrorism. Detective Espinosa will share information about strategies extremist organizations use to recruit new members, indicators that individuals may be engaged in extremist activities, and strategies that parents, caregivers, educators, and community members can use to identify and address potentially dangerous behaviors.

6. BGSU Science Cafe: Medicated Streams

Join us for our virtual Science Cafe Event on Thursday, April 29, from 6:30-7:30PM! Registration is required. See below for more details.

Dr. Kevin McCluney is an associate professor in BGSU's Department of Biological Sciences whose research focuses on understanding the causes and consequences of global change in both aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems. He will discuss the impacts of human use of legal and illegal pharmaceuticals on aquatic and streamside food webs. A short talk will be followed by a panel discussion including collaborators and students involved in the research.

Dunkin' will close May 3rd to being construction of Einstein Bros. Bagels. BGSU Dining is excited to open this new location before Fall 2021's semester begins.

2. Final Week of Drop-In Consultations!

The Career Center will remain open all summer but this week is the final week for drop-in's. In 15-20 minutes you can address almost any career-related topic including resumes and cover letters. Stop by or call this Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm. Professional headshots are also offered on Friday from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm. No appointment is necessary.

3. Free Summer Weight Loss Program!

Looking to change your eating habits, improve your exercise habits, and lose weight? We are running a weight loss group for 12-weeks starting in May via a private Facebook group. The treatment is delivered completely through the Facebook group. You will be encouraged to make changes to your diet and to increase your physical activity. You must be between the ages of 18-29, have a body mass index in the range of overweight or obesity (>25 kg/m2), have a desire to lose weight, own a smartphone or personal computer, have access to a scale, and have an existing Facebook account.

Eligible individuals will be randomly assigned to one of three groups. One of the groups will be asked to wait 12 weeks in order to participate. There is no cost to participate.

5. Enroll in Summer Course to Learn about Social Media, Social Justice and Gender

Social Media, Social Justice and Gender (ACS 3000 104W 40848/WS 3000 102W 42600)

This six week online course will explore the ways in which social justice movements like #MeToo, #BlackLivesMatter (and many more!) utilize the affordances of social media platforms to organize, raise awareness, and build communities in the US and across the world. Course readings include a mix of essays and multimedia resources. Assignments for this course will be a blend of writing and creative projects, which include designing your very own social media campaign.

6. HP 2150: Health and Wellness (Summer Course 100% Online)

Are you wanting to enroll in a course this summer that can help you improve your overall health? If so, please consider enrolling in HP 2150: Health and Wellness. 7. Online summer BGP class: Exploring Music!

Are you looking for a fun summer BG Perspective class? Do you like music? If so, then check out Exploring Music! In this course—MUCT 1010-401W; summer session 1—you'll learn how music helps movies tell stories, what reggae and Beethoven’s 9th Symphony have in common, and why music is not a universal language. We'll examine how music intersects with ethnicity, gender, war, politics, and more. This is a web-based course. No previous musical training needed. 10. Take a Chinese Culture Course this Fall!

CHIN 2160 (Chinese Culture) provides a fundamental dialogue between Chinese traditional culture and popular culture. The course emphasizes understanding contemporary popular culture embodied in films, music, dance, and fashion. It also studies issues such as ethics, gender and sexuality that have concerned Chinese society. We will also explore the roots of popular culture and current social concerns in Chinese traditional philosophy such as Taoism and Confucianism through studying The Analects, The Art of War, Dao De Jing, Zhuangzi and other Chinese classics. Through this course, you will expand your understanding of Chinese culture, social norms, and customs; gain general ideas about Chinese history, legend, and mythology; study and appreciate basic Chinese philosophy; increase your knowledge of Chinese popular culture; study the trajectory of gender and sexuality in China; and develop an international perspective. 1. Classroom/lab software request deadline for Summer/Fall 2021

The deadline for submitting software requests (for classrooms, computer labs and mobile device carts) for the 2021 Summer and Fall Semesters is April 30, 2021.

To request a software installation, please submit a Lab/Classroom Software Install Request here.

ITS will attempt to complete software installations needed for the first week of classes that are submitted after the deadline; however, these will be handled in the order received and may not be available for the start of the session/semester.

You may refer to the same webpage linked above for more information on software requests not required for the start of a semester/session.

3. Planning for Different Modalities Workshop

This workshop serves as a virtual space for us to reflect and discuss aspects of teaching and learning specific to each modality (Face-to-Face, Hybrid, Remote, and Online). Whether you are planning to refresh your course for next semester or preparing to shift your course to a new-to-you modality, this workshop is meant to help you plan and prepare for next semester. During the session we will share and discuss strategies for course delivery and design including course organization and navigation, student engagement and collaboration, and teaching tools and strategies for each method of teaching.

4. Summer 2021 Checklist Review and Discussion

This 1-hour session serves as a virtual space for us to discuss steps we should take to prepare our courses for the summer session. Our discussion will be based on a checklist and resources to help guide our planning process and helpful links to key BGSU resources for course design, delivery, and pedagogy. During the hour-long session, instructors will be encouraged to share their experiences, provide examples, and discuss best practices as we talk through important aspects of communicating with students, organizing our Canvas course shells, and preparing to teach via various methods of delivery this summer.
