1. AROTC Falcon Fitness Challenge Week 3: 1-Mile Run

Join us at the Student Recreation Center for Week 3 (Oct. 11 – Oct. 15) of the AROTC Falcon Fitness Challenge – Come show us how fast you are! • Participants will run 1 mile on the designated treadmill. • Top five men and women with the highest score at the end of the week win a FREE AROTC Falcon Fitness Challenge t-shirt! • To participate in week one’s challenge, stop by the SRC during the drop-in times listed below:

4. Help Us Help Others in Collaboration with Brown Bag

Come help us gather non-perishable food items, and hygiene items to give to the Brown Bag Food Project outside of Union on Friday Oct. 29 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., and when we return to the Union again on Friday, Nov. 12. The Brown Bag Food Project is a local non-profit organization that helps people in need with food insecurities within the community. Anything you can donate to help our cause is very much appreciated! We will be hanging up flyers around campus providing more details on the specific items we will be collecting at our table, so please be on the lookout for them! Hope to see a lot of you there!

5. Men’s Soccer Taking on Georgia Southern for Senior Night

Georgia Southern will come to Bowling Green to take on the Falcons this Saturday. Kickoff will be at 7 p.m. inside Cochrane Stadium. Admission to all soccer games is free.

7. SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE COMEDY SHOW AT BGSU!

Are you a fan of shows like SNL, The Office, and Broad City? Well, you're in luck--you have a chance to see it live on campus! Lady Parts Comedy presents our VERY FIRST show of the year, "Hallelujah, SHE SPEAKS!" We are the all female and non-gender conforming comedy group on campus, and boy do we have a show planned! 8. Share your International/Global/Cultural Experience

If you have studied abroad in the last two years, worked on a project with a global/international/cultural focus, or if are an international student, or have participated in BGSU intercultural/international programs within the US, come share your experience with your peers and polish your professional profile at the same time. Both undergraduate and graduate students are invited to participate!

Choose to present your scholarly and/or experiential experiences as an oral presentation (12 minutes max) or prepare a poster or short video for BGSU's annual Embracing Global Engagement conference, taking place on Oct. 27 in the Bowen Thompson Student Union from 9am until 5 p.m.

11. Volleyball Hosts Two MAC Opponents This Weekend

The Falcon volleyball team hosts a doubleheader vs. MAC foes Northern Illinois and Western Michigan this weekend. Friday night's matchup vs. NIU will be a Pride Night game that begins at 6 p.m. at the Stroh Center.

Saturday's matchup vs. Western Michigan is dedicated to our local heroes in the military and in the community. Join us for a 5 p.m. start at the Stroh Center.

14. Come to the Spooktacular Mid-Semester CCCC Party!

Are you burnt out from midterms, doing loads of course work, and sweating over mid-semester projects? Do you want an opportunity to chill out with the Cross-Cultural Conversation Connection Program? Are you free on Friday, Oct. 22, from 5 to 6 p.m.? Great, you’re qualified!

You do not need to be a current member to join us for this event. Instead, take this as an opportunity drop in for few minutes, munch on some snacks, play a game or two, and watch Halloween-related clips!

You are highly encouraged to dress up in a costume of your choice but can opt to wear orange and black if you prefer.

The event will take place in the Centennial Hall Meeting Room where we’ll be waiting with snacks, word games, and conversation!

9. Student Tickets for Football Available

We are excited to welcome all students to all of our Falcon Athletics home games! Students receive one free season ticket to each of our ticketed sports: Football, Volleyball, Hockey, Women’s Basketball, and Men’s Basketball.

Admission is FREE for all other sports.

All tickets will be digital and can be accessed through your Ticket Office account. Accounts will be created for new students. Once tickets become available, another e-mail will be sent with instructions on how to login and access your tickets!

2. How to Complete SAAC Reports

Come to this session to have your questions about completing Student Achievement Assessment Committee (SAAC) reports answered. The purpose of the SAAC short-form assessment report is to identify and describe the programmatic Learning Outcomes that were assessed this academic year and how the results are being applied to improve programs. The goal of the SAAC long-form assessment report is to describe the assessments completed during past academic years and how the results are being applied to improve programs. Clarifying information about SAAC short-form and long-form reports will be provided.

4. Micro-Learning Video Editing Lab

The Center for Faculty Excellence is offering an Educational Video Editing Lab to instructors. This lab will have an open discussion on best practices for educational videos and allow for lab time to work on producing a video for a course.

By the end of the lab, instructors will be able to identify best practices for creating educational videos for their courses, produce a video to edit using Camtasia or Canvas Studio, understand the importance of video accessibility, and share the final production for feedback.

Prerequisites: • Completion of a Camtasia for Beginners or a Canvas Studio Workshop
• Laptop
• Camtasia or Canvas Studio software
• Course content or topic to use for producing a video

5. The OAI is accepting applications for their small grant awards

The Optimal Aging Institute (OAI) is accepting applications for their small grants awards ($500 to $1,000). Grant funds through the OAI are designed for original scholarship, seed money, or pilot data. Applicants may be full-time faculty or graduate-level students with support from a full-time faculty member. The upcoming deadline for submission is Nov. 1.
