Vivian J. Miller, PhD, MSSA, LSW, is an Associate Professor of Social Work and licensed social worker whose career is dedicated to enhancing the well-being of older adults. Drawing on extensive practice experience across the continuum of aging services, Dr. Miller investigates how social connection, engagement, and supportive policies can improve quality of life in later life. She has authored more than 40 peer-reviewed publications in leading aging and social work journals, including Aging and Health Research, Journal of Aging Studies, Journal of Gerontological Social Work, and The Journals of Gerontology: Series B. Her research focuses on three key areas: factors that foster social connection among older adults, including technology and transportation; social work practice and policy that support vulnerable and marginalized older adults; and innovations in gerontological social work education.
