Dr. Jadwiga Carlson selected as nominee for MAC Outstanding Faculty Award for Student Success

Jadwiga Carlson PhotoEach year, the Mid-American Conference (MAC) recognizes faculty who go above and beyond to support students both inside and outside the classroom. This year BGSU has selected Dr. Jadwiga Carlson as our nominee for the MAC Outstanding Faculty Award for Student Success.

Dr. Carlson has been at BGSU since 2003 and is a teaching professor in the Department of Computer Science. She has served as the faculty advisor for BGSU’s Women in Computing since 2010, and is director of the BGSU Agile Software Factory, which provides students hands-on experience in the software development field. Additionally, Dr. Carlson founded CODE4Her in 2016, which matches middle school girls in Northwest Ohio with BGSU computer science majors who teach them coding skills. More than 200 girls and 60 BGSU students have participated in this program since its inception.

Winners for the MAC Outstanding Faculty Award for Student Success will be announced in March 2024.
