This week's essential health and wellness information from BGSU Chief Health Officer Ben Batey

In this week's update, we are reporting our final COVID-19 dashboard of the 2020-21 academic year, outlined in this email, as well as on the Forward Falcons website.
We appreciate all of the ways our BGSU community came together over the past academic year to slow the spread of COVID-19. In partnership with the Wood County Health Department, we were able to administer more than 13,000 vaccinations this spring. Because of increasing numbers of vaccinations and decreasing cases, we look forward to more normal campus life this fall. We will be assessing and updating health and safety plans for students, faculty and staff in the coming weeks.
If you have not yet been vaccinated, we hope that you will. If you have questions about vaccinations, please contact us at health@bgsu.edu or call the University's COVID-19 hotline at 419-372-3000. There are opportunities locally, and across the state and nation to receive the vaccination. The Wood County Health Department will offer free, single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccines today, Thursday, May 6, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Wood County Health Department. The clinic is open to the public, and appointments are not required. You will be asked to provide a form of identification.

Now that the academic year has concluded and the majority of students are no longer on campus, we will be updating our COVID-19 dashboard less frequently. Throughout the summer months, free rapid testing will be offered on campus Mondays and Thursdays from 3 p.m. - 5 p.m. for students, faculty and staff by appointment.
Schedule your Rapid Test
We will continue to email you with important updates and messages, and we also encourage you to check the Forward Falcons website for updates. Thank you for your flexibility over the past year. We wish you a healthy, safe summer!
Be well,
