1. Buy your tickets for the BGSU Falconettes Showcase!
The BGSU Falconettes dance team is hosting their FIRST annual showcase at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 16, in the Bowen-Thompson Student Union Multipurpose Room (228).
Falconettes Showcase tickets are $8 each and may be purchased online or with the link in our bio on Instagram @bgsufalconettes.
The show will highlight all group dances from the semester, as well as small group and solo dances. Any questions, DM us on Instagram or email bgsufalconettes@gmail.com. Come bring a friend and support the Falconettes!

2. Decades Night dance
The University Activities Organization is doing its yearly dance where the theme is Decades Night! From 7 to 10 p.m. on Friday, April 14, in the BTSU Ballroom, we will have food, fun accessories, a DJ and a dance floor! Come out dressed in any decade you would like; we can't wait to see you there!

3. Introduction: Nigerian Student Association representatives
The growing population of Nigerian students or students who generally identify as Nigerians at BGSU has encouraged the need to form the Nigerian Student Association to create a supportive Nigerian community for all members and share our beautiful, rich and proud culture with all of the BGSU community.
We have recently elected representatives in different positions to help coordinate our activities. These representatives and their positions are as follows:

- Vice President: Chimdiogo Onyeani Nwosu
- Secretary: Aishat Babatunde
- Treasurer: Ibukunoluwa Olatunji
- Social Representative: Blessing Iweuno
- Communication & Outreach Representative: Chidiebere Anugwolu
Objectives: Our overarching objectives as an association here at BGSU is to create a safe, supportive and thriving community for both current and future Nigerian students in the school and to share our country’s diverse and rich cultural heritage; from our food to our music, arts, history and more through periodic events and newsletters.
Goal: Our goal as an association is to provide support for newly admitted local and international Nigerian students to settle into life at BGSU and thrive socially and academically as individuals.
We will be counting on your support to help us thrive as an association. Thank you!

4. Movie night TONIGHT with the Pop. Culture Library
Join the Browne Popular Culture Library from 5 to 8 p.m. TONIGHT for a showing of Halloween III. The evening will include an introduction by Shane Hesketh, American Culture Studies Ph.D. candidate and graduate teaching assistant, Department of Theatre and Film.
This movie showing is in conjunction with the BGSU Class Conference. Shane will be presenting a paper on Halloween III at the conference on Saturday, April 15.

5. 2023 OAGE Conference, April 20-21
The College of Health & Human Services and the Optimal Aging Institute are excited sponsors of the 2023 OAGE (Ohio Association of Gerontology and Education) Conference. This year's conference for "students, educators and professionals in the field of Gerontology" will be held at the University of Toledo - Lancelot Thompson Student Union on Thursday, April 20, and Friday, April 21. 6. Pizza and Punk tomorrow with Dr. Donahue in the Library!
Dr. Matthew A. Donahue will give a presentation titled “Punk… History… Reality…” at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11, in the Jerome Library, Pallister Conference Room, first floor. In conjunction with the University Libraries’ Punk exhibit located on the first floor of the library, Dr. Donahue’s presentation will highlight the history of punk music and its pioneers. This talk is free and open to all.
We will be serving free pizza at this event while it lasts! Dr. Matthew A. Donahue is a musician, artist, filmmaker, writer and teaching professor for the Department of Popular Culture.

7. Save the Date: CFE Teaching & Learning Summit
The Center for Faculty Excellence (CFE) is excited to host the 2023 BGSU Teaching and Learning Summit. The theme for this year’s summit is Teaching for the Public Good. Teaching for the public good means that we, as the BGSU teaching community, are actively engaged in providing equitable learning experiences for all our students. We will utilize this year’s summit to collectively reflect, celebrate achievements and challenge ourselves to continuously contribute to successful student outcomes. The keynote speaker for the Summit is Dr. James Lang, author of Small Teaching: Everyday Lessons from the Science of Learning.

10. Undergraduate Psychology Association Executive Board elections
The Undergraduate Psychology Association is holding its Executive Board elections from 7 to -8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12, in the Education Building room 201. The positions that are available are President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Public Relations/Social Media Chair and Fundraising/Event Planning Chair. Running for President does require prior experience on the UPA Executive Board. If you are interested in running please fill out this survey below and prepare a short speech with your background, experience and why you want this position. 11. VCT Professional Development Week
Join us for a week of professional development featuring Whitney Taylor, VCT alumna and current YouTube/Google, senior staff UX manager. Throughout the week other Visual Communication Technology (VCT) industry professionals will provide expertise and discussion! Our first event occurs this afternoon, Monday, April 10. The event will focus on Whitney’s professional journey and research in VCT. Join us from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. today at the Technology Building (Room 235/VCT Lab).
Other events throughout the week include a Lunch & Learn with Whitney, Portfolio/Resume Review and a VCT Professional Industry Panel! This will be a great opportunity to learn about careers and current trends in UX/UI and network with professionals! Questions? 12. “Evil Dead the Musical” opens Thursday!
“Evil Dead the Musical” with story and lyrics written by George Reinblatt and music by Frank Cipolla, Christopher Bond, Melissa Morris and George Reinblatt has shows this weekend in the Thomas B. and Kathleen M. Donnell Theatre for performances from April 13-16. Performances will be at 8 p.m. on April 13-15 and there will be performances at 2 p.m. on April 15 and 16.
Remember, students who buy their tickets in advance get them for just $5! Purchase tickets and view ticket prices.
Come support the theatre department and enjoy a night of entertainment - we hope to see you there! Parking Lot "N" is free after 6 p.m. and on weekends.

2. Anxiety Survival Skills Workshop: Acceptance-Based Strategies
It’s not always possible to stop or prevent anxious thoughts and feelings – but that doesn’t mean that they need to define you, dominate your focus or determine your actions. In this class you’ll learn about ways to step back, observe and live with anxiety, and continue to function in ways that fit your goals and values.

3. Could you use a $10 Starbucks gift card for finals?
Mothers and daughters: Would you like to participate in a discussion together about manners? The first 50 eligible participants (each participant in the first 25 pairs of mothers and daughters) will receive a $10 e-Starbucks card after completing 75% (or 10 out of 14) of a Zoom session’s interview questions. Daughters should be 18 to 24 years old.
The Zoom interview will take approximately 60 – 90 minutes and will provide you with a space to discuss your thoughts about and experiences with etiquette. I am especially interested in the perspectives of marginalized individuals, including people who identify as women of color, poor and/or lower-middle class.

5. Em-bracelet wellness
The Student Wellness Network invites you to make your wellness bracelets from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11, at the SRC Boardroom. All the necessary materials will be provided to participants.
This event is a great opportunity for you to relax, de-stress and socialize with your fellow students. Creating bracelets is a fun and therapeutic way to unwind and express your creativity.

6. Last chance Summer Splash: Team Canoe Battleship
It's time to sink or float with the Wellness Connection at the annual Summer Splash Pool Battleship Elimination Event! On Thursday, April 20, you and three friends will have the chance to compete and sink other teams in the annual Cooper Pool Battleship Elimination. Canoes, buckets and super soakers will be provided by the Outdoor Program! This event will be the final event of Summer Splash, taking place at the Student Recreation Center from 8 to 10 p.m. The winning team will win free individual summer wellness bags, valued at $50! Teams must register and submit their team roster by Monday, April 17. Teams should consist of four BGSU students. This event is free to all BGSU students.

7. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center trip
Are you interested in Olympic and Paralympic sport? Consider taking HMSL 6950/SM 3950: Olympic Experience. We will travel to the the Olympic and Paralympic Training Center (OPTC) in Colorado Springs Aug. 7-12. OPTC staff will conduct educational sessions on topics such as sport psychology, OPTC operations, strength and conditioning, sport medicine, administration, coach education, diversity & inclusion and anti-doping efforts. 9. Research study participants needed!
BGSU undergraduate students (18+) are needed to participate in an online survey about the transition from high school to college and its impact on their mental health and well-being. This study focuses primarily on the mental health of first-year students, but all undergraduate students are eligible to participate.
Participation requires taking an online survey lasting approximately 5–10 minutes.

10. SAAM Awareness Adventure
Looking for a new, fun and engaging way to learn about campus resources for Sexual Assault Awareness Month? Join the Wellness Connection and Residence Life by participating in this year’s SAAM Awareness Adventure! From April 3 to April 21, you will be able to scan QR codes located across campus to learn about how each office provides services and support regarding sexual assault and misconduct.
On-campus students start with the QR codes posted at the front desk of their residence hall and off-campus students start with the QR code at the Office of the Dean of Students. When finished, stop by Wellness Connection inside the Rec Center to pick up a wellness cooler bag! The first 70 students to complete the adventure will also receive a denim hat!

11. Summer Splash
Kick back with the Wellness Connection for an end of the year pool party at this year’s Summer Splash! Summer Splash will be held from 8 to 11 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, at the Student Recreation Center. This event will feature many summer competitions and prizes such as Cannon Ball Crash, Team Canoe Battleship and water obstacle course!
Want ways to relax? Enjoy tie-dye and postcard making with the PAWS Therapy Dogs, with an Ice-cream Sundae Bar included! The first 100 students to arrive will receive a free Wellness Connection cooler bag for this coming summer, along with some goodies inside! This event is free to all BGSU students.

12. Survey for students with a disability
For my dissertation study, I am conducting research, with Dr. Judy May, to better understand the attitude toward retention and belonging in students with a disability. This is an anonymous online survey, which lasts about 5-10 minutes. You are able to complete this survey anytime from your phone or computer. The information you provide will be private and not shared with anyone. We are just looking to learn more about students with a disability and their attitude toward retention and belonging at BGSU.
You must be 18 years or older to participate. If interested, take the survey.
