OhioLINK is transitioning to a new courier service. As part of this transition, you will not be able to request OhioLINK items after March 11. We expect delivery delays, so make your requests early.

2. BGSU network maintenance scheduled for Mar. 8

On Tuesday, March 8, beginning at 10:30 p.m. through Wednesday, March 9, at 3:30 a.m., Information Technology Services (ITS) will perform equipment maintenance that supports the BGSU network. During this time there may be brief, intermittent interruptions (2-4 minutes) to internet connectivity on both the wired and wireless networks.

Interested in getting fresh Krispy Kreme donuts for yourself or your organization? Dance Marathon is selling Krispy Kreme original glazed donuts benefitting Dance Marathon at BGSU for $11 per dozen. Pre-sale of donuts ends today. The donuts are for pickup or delivery to dorms, houses and offices on campus. Delivery will be from 8 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 16, and pickup will be on Wednesday, March 16, in the Oval from 9 to 11 a.m.

7. PaperCut (printing) outage scheduled for March 9

The PaperCut Printing Service will be unavailable on Wednesday, March 9, from approximately 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. while Information Technology Services (ITS) performs an upgrade. Please do not log into or try to access the system during this time frame. During the upgrade period, all functions related to campus printing will be unavailable.

8. De-stress with mindfulness

Do you have experience with mindfulness and are looking to further your practice? Join our Expanding Your Mindfulness Practice workshop. In this workshop we will build upon basic mindfulness skills to develop and grow your practice. New to mindfulness? You are welcome to join, too!

All participants receive a free copy of the book “The Mindful Twenty-Something: Life Skills to Handle Stress... and Everything Else” and a journal. The workshop is Thursdays, noon to 1 p.m. on March 17, 24, 31, and April 7 via Zoom.

9. Learn how to save a life

In partnership with NAMI Wood County and NAMI on Campus BGSU, we are hosting the suicide prevention gatekeeper training Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR). The mission of QPR is to reduce suicidal behaviors and save lives by providing innovative, practical and proven suicide prevention training. I appreciate any assistance promoting these events.

Undergraduate and graduate students from all disciplines may submit proposals to give a poster presentation on research, scholarly, or creative work related to diversity in the broadest sense (including culture, ethnicity, race, gender, sexuality, age, disability and socio-economic status). Both group and individual presentations will be accepted. Presentations can be based on work completed either as part of a course or as an extra-curricular project under the guidance of a faculty mentor.

2. MARK YOUR CALENDARS! Pride Parade coming soon!

As a part of BGSU’s annual Rainbow Days, LGBTQ+ Programs will be putting on a Pride Parade. The purpose of this event is to create a safe space exclusively on campus for students who have never been able to attend pride due to the pandemic, feel unsafe to attend a pride function at home, and to allow space to express ourselves freely while sharing our identity of being LGBTQ+ BGSU students.

This event is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, in the Union Oval. Check-in will begin at 11:00 a.m. The parade will start promptly at 11:30 a.m. and will be a short stroll around campus together followed by a short kick-back to enjoy space with one another. 3. Logo contest for Cross-Cultural Conversation Connection program

WHAT IS CCCC? The Cross-Cultural Conversation Connection (CCCC) is an extracurricular program that has been organized and facilitated by the English for Speakers of Other Languages office since 1995. The CCCC program runs during the fall and spring semesters and connects domestic students and international students in small conversation groups, each with group leader(s). The purpose of the Cross-Cultural Conversation Connection is to develop cultural understanding in today's global community by connecting people from different cultures through conversation.

4. Online summer course - Gender and Migration: Bodies Across Borders!

This special topics course explores the gender and racial underpinnings of contemporary immigration politics from a global context. By focusing on a set of recent issues and debates such as the refugee/migrant crisis, human trafficking, border crossing, border policing practices, and gendered violence among the borderlands we will analyze how seemingly neutral laws and policies, and the migration experience itself, impact various genders and racial/ethnic groups differently. This is part one in a two-part workshop series. Part one of this workshop will cover new ways to use familiar tools to develop high-quality digital content. 4. Program Evaluation workshop

In this workshop, participants will discuss strategies on how to align learning outcomes, curriculum and assessment. There will be a review of Bloom’s Revised Taxonomy and the AAC&U VALUE Rubrics aligning with the University Learning Outcomes. 5. Register for the virtual Teaching and Learning Summit!

The Center for Faculty Excellence is delighted to welcome you to the virtual 2022 Teaching and Learning Summit. The theme for this year’s summit is Teaching in the New Normal: Centering Equity & Inclusion. Presentations will explore the intersections of accessibility, equity and inclusion in relation to teaching in the new normal. Featured presentations include a keynote by Dr. Thomas Tobin and a panel presentation by CFE Faculty Associates.

6. Search committee training for faculty/staff

Join us on March 8 at 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. for search committee training. This training focuses on building inclusive searches and should be taken by anyone chairing or serving on a search committee. We will review definitions, information on identities, conflict of interests, expectations of the chair and committee members, and ways search committees help advance overarching goals. Food drive March 7 – 18. Join us in a friendly competition between classified and administrative staff to see who can collect the most items and win the coveted can trophy.
