3. Celebrate with AAUW

AAUW (American Association of University Women) invites you to a Winter Celebration on Thursday, Dec. 8, at 5:30 p.m. at the BGSU Teaching Kitchen. Have fun learning how to make a cocktail or two and snacks for the holidays. Bring a friend. The cost is $35 per person. Registration is required to attend the Winter Celebration and is due by Dec. 6.

4. Volleyball watch party at Stroh Center TONIGHT

The Falcon Volleyball team is playing in the 2022 NCAA Tournament today in Lexington, Kentucky. The Falcons will take on Western Kentucky in the opening round match at 4:30 p.m. For fans who can’t make it to Lexington, BGSU Athletics will host a watch party at the Stroh Center. This free event is open to students and community members. A concessions stand will be open for fans in attendance. Doors open at 4 p.m. tonight!

5. ITS spring 2023 start-of-term freeze

Information Technology Services (ITS) will be placing a freeze on operating system upgrades and replacement device installation requests during the first two weeks of the spring semester (Jan. 9-20, 2023) in order to prioritize support for the start of the semester and new hire devices. Any requests for this type of support will be scheduled out after Jan. 20, so please plan accordingly.

1. Annual pajama party TONIGHT!

Tonight is the night to relax with the Wellness Connection! Do exams have you stressed? Then come join the Wellness Connection’s annual pajama party, which will be held at the Student Recreation Center on December 1 from 8 to 11 p.m. Make sure to wear your best PJs to have a chance to win winter care packages! Therapy dogs will be waiting to greet you while you take a trip to our hot chocolate bar! The first 200 students to arrive will receive a free Stuff-a-Plush Animal Plushie, with five options to choose from. This event is free to all BGSU students.

Did you know current BGSU students can apply to the Honors College? Even if you have started your college journey, you can still become a member of a community that will offer support, challenge and skills to last a lifetime. The Honors College continuing student application can be found here.

3. Calling all tap & jazz dancers!

Earn course credit, stay fit and develop your technique and artistry next semester: Enroll in intermediate/advanced level dance technique classes! There is still space available in Jazz II (M/W 1:30 to 2:45 p.m.) and Tap II (M/W 4:30 to 5:45 p.m.) for spring 2023. 4. MEDLIFE service learning trip next summer to Tena, Ecuador!

Our MEDLIFE service learning trip is to Tena, Ecuador, May 20-28. During this time, we will help an underserved community receive care through mobile clinics and developmental projects. It is a beneficial experience for everyone, not just pre-health majors!

We meet biweekly each month and will be hosting trip-specific meetings next semester. If you would like more information, a great way to stay updated is through our social media pages @medlifebgsu or by joining our GroupMe! Join the BGSU MEDLIFE GroupMe!

5. De-stress express - All residents!

Come join us for a time of fun and relaxation! This event is for all residents to come and participate in stress-ball making, coloring, raffle for prizes, mocktails and much more. Come to win one of two raffles baskets: cozy basket with a weighted blanket and more or an athletic basket with a water bottle and more! This event is on Thursday, Dec. 1, in Offenhauer Towers from 7 to 9 p.m. We hope to see you there!

6. World AIDS Day and all day HIV testing TODAY!

Today is officially World AIDS Day! The Wellness Connection will be partnering with an HIV testing coordinator to provide free and anonymous HIV testing at the Union in rooms 306 and 307. All day testing will be from noon to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Students can learn more about this opportunity at the Wellness Connection table today at the Union.

7. CCCC end of semester party

Hello everyone!

You are all invited to our end-of-the-year party scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 1, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the East Hall Lounge on the 2nd floor.

Everyone is free to come and go as they please; this is an informal event where you can take a break during the final week of classes. We'll have snacks and pizza and you'll have a chance to reminisce the high points of the semester.

Take German 2160 "Contemporary Germany" this spring! In this BGP-approved class, study everyday life in Germany, including its support for environmental sustainability, its role in the European Union, its response to the 2015 refugee crisis and the role of social media, soccer, digital games and popular music in Germany today.

Learn about how Germany dealt with its Nazi past, about its role during the cold war, about the revolution in East Germany and the tearing down of the wall.

Words are one thing, but what about words that are made out of other words?? This spring, by studying the Greek and Latin roots "borrowed" into English, you'll gain power over language, dividing words to conquer their meaning!

1. Search committee training for faculty/staff - virtual

This training focuses on building inclusive searches and should be taken by anyone chairing or serving on a search committee. We will review definitions, information on identities, conflict of interests, expectations of the chair and committee members and ways search committees help advance overarching goals. An upcoming training will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 6, from 9 to 10 a.m. Register for search committee training.
