1. A gathering of family, friends, and community members to celebrate the life of David "Ryan" Walker II
Please join us to celebrate the life of David "Ryan" Walker.
Ryan was a 3rd-year BGSU student, an adored son, nephew, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. Ryan touched the lives of so many people and we would like to celebrate his legacy on BGSU's campus.
The event will take place on Nov. 19 from noon to 2 p.m. in 308 BTSU. There will be bracelets for sale during the event for $5 and all proceeds will go towards a scholarship in Ryan's name.

3. Holiday toy drive
The BGSU chapter of the National Society for Leadership and Success (NSLS) in partnership with BGSU's chapter of Mortar Board are hosting a holiday toy drive!
Toy donations will be accepted Nov. 1-21 and will be donated to the Bowling Green Fire Department and children in the Bowling Green community. Donations can be dropped off in donation boxes located in all residence halls, as well as to Brittany Krisanda in 301 Hayes Hall.

6. CWGE Research Seminar - Straight performance and queer interventions in Marvel Comics with Bryan Bove
"Homos, Heteros, Hard Bodies, Oh Myyy: Straight Performance and Queer Interventions in Marvel Comics"
Tuesday, Nov. 8, from noon to 1 p.m. at Hayes Hall 203
Join the CWGE for our Research Seminar with Bryan Bove, a Ph.D. candidate in the American Culture Studies program and graduate assistant in the CWGE, CVPE and the Office of Title IX.
Bryan will be presenting a chapter of his dissertation, which explores the intersection of self, society and queerness-as-illness in comics through the lens of queer/disability studies. Specifically, Bryan will analyze gender performance and queer interventions in Marvel's X-Force series, contextualized in autoethnographic experiences.

8. HIV testing offered on Wednesday at the SRC
This testing service, offered at the Student Recreation Center on the BGSU campus, is completely free, confidential, and LGBTQ+ friendly and affirming.
Call the Wellness Connection at 419-372-9355 to schedule an appointment for a rapid HIV test. Walk-ins are always welcome. A real name is not needed when making the appointment.
Test Date: Wednesday, Nov. 2, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Student Recreation Center
Testing occurs on the first and third Wednesday of each month during on-campus instructional periods.

9. DodgeBALLdrick's Tournament for childhood cancer research
The National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) is hosting the annual DodgeBALLdrick's Tournament on Nov. 17 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Eppler Center Gym (first floor).
Each team needs five to six members and the cost is $5 per person (cash or Venmo due the day of the event).
All proceeds will go toward the St. Baldrick's Foundation, which is the largest non-governmental organization to raise money for childhood cancer research. This year NRHH has a goal to raise $10,000 for the Foundation and we hope you will help us do that! Costumes are encouraged and the best spirit will be rewarded!

10. "This is Not a Pipe Dream" has shows on campus this Thursday and Sunday!
"This is Not a Pipe Dream" by Barry Kornhauser has two shows on campus this week, Nov. 3 at 7 p.m. and Nov. 6 at 2 p.m. in the Conrad Coral Room in the Wolfe Center.
This is a Treehouse Troupe Production that is geared for kids ages 8 and up. Purchase tickets - only $5 for adults and children 18 and younger are free. Come out to enjoy a night of entertainment and support the Department of Theatre and Film! Parking Lot N will be free after 6:00 p.m. and on weekends.

11. Cloud Computing at Nationwide Insurance by the VP of Cloud Operations

Todd Kasper, the Vice President of Cloud Computing at Nationwide Insurance, is coming to BGSU to deliver a talk about cloud computing at Nationwide. Join us to learn about cloud computing and its applications at an industry level, with professional insights from the expert.

The following topics will be covered:
- General overview, and explanation of cloud computing.
- Why did Nationwide make the switch to cloud?
- What does the process of implementing a cloud look like?
- The major problems that Nationwide encountered and the solutions.
- Compare the maintenance procedures with/without cloud.
- Security concerns and how can Nationwide assure that customer data is secure.
- What kind of skills are sought after if one wants to work in the field of cloud computing.

13. Today! Dia de los Muertos - Visit our Ofrenda
The Office of Multicultural Affairs Ambassadors will have an Ofrenda available to celebrate our loved ones who have passed. This Ofrenda will be on display from Tuesday, Nov. 1, to Wednesday, Nov. 2, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. in room 427 of the Bowen-Thompson Student Union. Those who attend may add a photocopied image of a loved one and/or write a note to honor their legacy.

14. In the Round Native American guest artist speaker series – metals and jewelry artist
In the Round, a six-part guest speaker series featuring Native American Creatives, concludes its inaugural 2022 season with Pat Pruitt on Thursday, Nov. 10, at 5:30 p.m. in the BTSU Multipurpose Room.

15. "My Body No Choice"
"My Body No Choice" is a staged reading of eight female-authored monologues around bodily autonomy and choice commissioned by Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater. This is a one-night-only staged reading performance taking place on Wednesday, Nov. 2, at 7 p.m. in the Conrad Coral room in the Wolfe Center for the Arts. This event is free and open to the public. Parking Lot "N" is free after 6 p.m. and on weekends.

Struggling with harmful coping mechanisms? You are not alone. Nearly 1/4 of college students struggle with non-suicidal self-injury.

7. New MDC course - Reproductive Health and Politics
WS 4680 (Reproductive Health and Politics) is now approved as a Multi-Disciplinary Component (MDC) course for the College of Arts and Sciences. The course will be offered in the spring semester on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m.
The course is an interdisciplinary exploration of the complex cultural, ethical and political issues surrounding human reproduction in the U.S. and globally, emphasizing the intersectionality of gender, sexuality, race and socioeconomic status. We will be learning and discussing the social dimensions of reproductive health, including menstruation, pregnancy, miscarriage, abortion, contraception, STI/STDs, sexual pleasure and problems, and menopause. Our course will center on the experiences of marginalized populations, including women of color, immigrants, LGBTQI people and people with disabilities.

1. Paint the Glass Bowl orange!
Let’s turn the Glass Bowl orange as the BGSU Falcons take on the Toledo Rockets in the Battle of I-75!
Join the alumni tailgate tent on Tuesday, Nov. 15, from 5 to 7 p.m. with a cost of $15 per person.
The menu includes hot dogs, hamburgers, veggie burgers, pasta salad, mac and cheese, chips, water and soda.
The tent will be in the Flatlands area on the northwest side of the Glass Bowl in Toledo. Walk-ups to attend the tailgate are available by credit card only.
Game tickets are not included and must be purchased separately.
